This is an interesting concept. No matter what path we take in life, there is an alternative. Each alternative is not necessaries better or worse simply different. It is also human nature to want what we cannot have. A rich business men may wish he had spent more time making friends or raising a family. A popular man may wish he had accumulated more wealth. It is an impossibility to experence everything, but that is human essence.

If we live a life with regrets all the way to the end, is there even a point of living?

C'mon, if you want that goddamn twinkie you just eat it and not feel bad about it. (unless you got diabeetes.)

Given the million possible ways your life can turn out, there would be issue in which "person you could have become" you meet. Is it "the best one"? What makes one possibility better over another? Wealth? Sex? Your level of happiness?

All you'd have to do then is live your life without regrets and no matter who you meet at the end, they'll have no grounds to hold anything over you.

I am quite honestly more afraid of meeting the person I used to be, than the person I could become one day.

This is pretty stupid, there's a HELL of a lot worse things that could happen to you, that you could call hell.
