Disregarding the American Military why do you have issue with someone who served his country being respected?

Just tired of seeing posts about the american military being thumbed up just because they deal with patriotism. No problem with somebody serving their country, just with seeing posts about it. I don't care either way.

I understand not wanting to be swamped with patriotism but here's the difference.

The man may not have died but he gave his life. I doubt your inconvenience here is as bad as that.

The story is most likely made up. If not, then that's too bad. But nobody deserves to be held higher than any other human life. I care more about the millions of innocent civilians killed and injured than any soldier. Choosing to fight, even if you were drafted, is contributing to unneeded death.

I would like to hear your solution to war that does not require fighting.
Tell me how you plan to keep this nations (Americas) enemy's at bay without force.
Tell me how a man drafted had the right to choose.
Tell me about the civilians who choose to pick up guns and shoot at soldiers.
I care about every man and women equally from civs to soldiers.

No one is holding him above anyone this is a story about helping him which has been earned. Respect is earned not given.

By saying nobody deserves to be held higher, I would not praise a war vet, as that is like forgetting about the millions of innocent lives lost due to soldiers and war.

Respect is mutual, with no respect for people who have not earned it, what's stopping people from not listening to anybody else that they do not know. Everybody deserves respect. Every life has worth. Nobody is above anybody.
