The cure for cancer was discovered already. It is a chemical, dichloroacetate (not 100% on spelling), which destroys cancer cells and only cancer cells.

The cure failed to reach distribution under allegations that it could not be patented (for undisclosed reasons).

But if you're not an idiot, you're able to figure that nobody would be making money from cancer patients anymore (chemotherapy, alternative methods, etc.), so somebody along the chain of command simply chose to suppress it.

Alright guys, obviously the information I had been given was false. I read several articles approximately two years ago. I did not know that further studies had been conducted.

Congratulations, you've proven an internet person wrong.

A word of advice: refrain from the insults next time. You're not going to hurt anyone's feelings. You're just going to make yourself look like an angry idiot. If you want to look like the better person, present your argument professionally.

Dude, I just want to say that you can't get any more wrong. Do you even understand how cancer works? Do you understand that the "cure" has to include a method of targeting cancerous cells? One chemical cannot identify ALL types of cancerous cells, that's why they use radiation as a method for targeting them. It is faaaar too complicated for just one molecule to be a "cure".

I'm not arguing with you here just pointing out what you were wrong on. I apologize in advance for the fact that I will not reply to any of your future comments on the subject as I'm not interested in an argument. Good day to you sir.

From an Immunlogy and Human biology major.

The article I read said that the chemical targets all cancer cells and only cancer cells, and destroys them. I'm hazy on the specifics, but I believe that when introduced to the cancer cells (cells which have failed to self destruct), causes them to self destruct.

The cure for cancer has been found, and no amount of red thumbs is going to hide that.

It targets cells which are undergoing anaerobic respiration, which cancer cells commonly do (because they grow too fast for adequate blood supply to be maintained). Even if it worked 100% on those cells (unlikely, cancer cells are very adaptable), cancer cells which do have enough oxygen would presumably be unaffected and able to grow again once treatment is stopped.

All the best,
A bachelor in biopharmaceutical chemistry

"In 2010, it was found that for human colorectal tumours grown in mice, under hypoxic conditions, DCA decreased rather than increased apoptosis, resulting in enhanced growth of the tumours.[20] These findings suggest that at least in some cancer types DCA treatment could be detrimental to patient health, highlighting the need for further testing before it can be considered a safe and effective cancer treatment."

The idea of the cancer cure being found already doesnt surprise me i guess. But the it's hard to believe someone is preventing it to come out. Which makes me think its not true that a cure has been found.

Oh, no, rest assured: the cure has been discovered.

The simple answer is money. The oldest reason for anything in society. Everything boils down to greed.

Well obviously, but the fact that cancer effects so many people. It's hard to believe that someone hasn't leaked it.

I think they did already say what it was, some kind of plant I believe but it can't be patented
