i have the impression that one goes to hell for laughing at dark humor
why is this? you havent done anything wrong, just laughed at what entertains you.
and even if ones twisted humor is based on an evil nature, it still kinda requires for that one to do something bad, like rape or murder or thieving before you can say that they have actually done something. if one deserves to go to hell for naturally being a sick **** , even though they havent done anything, shouldnt the god that created them go to hell aswell?
I think the general idea was that satan is evil and wants people to suffer, so he wants as many people as possibly can to go to hell or somthing. Don't quoute me on that, though.
Matthew 5:27-30
27 “You have heard that the law of Moses says, ‘Do not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust in his eye has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
I'm not going to pretend to be a theologian, but the interpretation I've always heard is that sin is an innate quality in all of us due to Adam and Eve's fall from grace. It isn't the act that's sinful but the person behind it. Let's say you've got two people in vegetative states, they can think but they can't act. One wishes death on all of the world for putting him in this condition and the other is grateful for all of the doctors, nurses, family, and friends fighting for his recovery. Even though neither of them are active participants in the world, clearly the first person is more evil than the second.
So basically, sin is more like HIV and the sinful acts are like AIDS. Anybody can get the virus and not everybody that gets the virus will necessarily get sick, ie go on a shooting spree. But we still need to recognize the preliminary symptoms of the disease, thinking about going on a shooting spree, and take action before it becomes a serious issue. Ultimately, we need to get rid of the virus itself so we no longer have to worry about the disease. Hell is supposed to be more of a hospital than a prison, the fire is supposed to burn away the sin so you can have a healthy spirit.
But yeah, the nature and origin of evil is a different question I won't even attempt to tackle.
