This is the stuff videogames don't show. It's what gives games Like Call Of Duty a bad name. This is true with action war movies too. They make war look fun.

Movies have tried harder to explain what PTSD would be like for a soldier in war lately. The problem is that we're only watching someone else. Videogames, I think, do have the ability to show us what real trauma on the human mind can do in war. We just need to pull away from the run-and-gun of the current shooting games, and look for something more artistic.

"The Line" shows pretty good how war makes you insane. The main even has to decide whether to sacrifice his friend to get advance or not.

I'ts a german game btw.

Then you should make it so you manage ammo in magazines, not ******* ammo pool where you reload exactly how many rounds you shot. That **** annoys me.

I want to create a war game, where your character has a sanity meter. The more violence is shown, the lower the sanity meter goes. So, it's not only about getting to the objective, it's also about staying sane.

It won't become popular because while some people might enjoy it the majority of the players will be like "wtf is this?" then toss it aside and go on and play some other shooter. Somewhat like amnesia while their are players who enjoy the entire trying to stay sane hide from monsters route there are also people who would rather just try to harm it and face it head on.

Pretty much, but you need to complete tasks, and your vision is obscured by images of dead soldiers and such.

Sounds like Amnesia. And Metal gear Solid 4.

I think it works better when you DON'T know you're going crazy. It's something subtle that you don't notice as the victim. Maybe something with ending that changes depending on how violent you were or how much **** you had to see. That kind of game is a while away.

So, what if... at the end, there's a pleading soldier, begging the main character to let him live. and then the protagonist drops his weapon and notices what he's done. He falls to floor and cries, as the enemy soldier drops his gun and runs away.
