Ok, first of all I would like to say PTSD is some serious **** , trust me, I have seen it first hand and I respect everyone who has ever signed up to guard their country. Now then, there are some things off about this post. 1. I specialize in the Marines, but why would a soldier be wearing there utilities in public? 2. How can that veteran hide from a fireworks show, in the day time? 3. I wouldn't call covering my ears hiding, now if she was squatting while covering her head behind the post ok . 4. What if she is on her phone?
Please, correct me if im wrong with LEGIT information, but this servicemember does not seem to be having a session with PTSD or is at a fireworks show.

This is why more needs to be done to help these unfortunate people. They did not ask to live a life of hell, they wanted to serve their country. What they saw did this to them, and they cant escape it, what is sad is exploits from the war is being glorified in order to produce the next generation of soldiers, to keep the cycle running.

that is why I donate to the VA, every little bit helps

My cousin was in Chemistry class with our 70 something year old teacher who was in Vietnam.

A large group of people simultaneously dropped their books to scare him (he's kind of a dick, but only to the stupid kids).

He jumped under his desk in shell shock.

That's ******* cruel. I have PTSD and the last time somebody knowingly set me off, I elbowed the ****** in the face and ran away crying.

Damn. I don't have more respect for anyone than i do for someone who's in the military. Seeing this is rough

That's why we should use drones instead of human soldiers. One less human life to ruin.

I support people having a fair chance at shooting each other
User avatar #550 to #539 - badgerclan (03/03/2013) [-]
Yes, because drone strikes don't ruin anybody's lives. They only hit confirmed targets and in no way subject innocent civilians in the area to the possibility of instantaneous death from above without warning, forcing them to live their lives in constant fear of sudden death.
User avatar #560 to #550 - eclecticparadigm **User deleted account** (03/03/2013) [-]
It was a soldier in the picture. What I said to decrease PTSD on soldiers, drones are a solution. I never figure out a way to prevent civilians from getting PTSD because it's a war out there and the terrorists are mixed within civilians.
User avatar #564 to #560 - badgerclan (03/03/2013) [-]
"what I said to decrease PTSD on soldiers"
"One less human life to ruin." No, you said human life. Are civilians in other countries not human?
User avatar #567 to #564 - eclecticparadigm **User deleted account** (03/03/2013) [-]
One less human life to ruin, soldiers aren't human lives?
User avatar #569 to #567 - badgerclan (03/03/2013) [-]
It doesn't ruin a soldier's life, it just ruins the lives of every single civilian that lives anywhere near where the strikes happen. That's thousands of lives ruined. But hey, as long as an American soldier doesn't feel bad it must be okay.
User avatar #571 to #569 - eclecticparadigm **User deleted account** (03/03/2013) [-]
Well, if you're not using a drone, and send soldiers in, they will be experiencing PTSD.
User avatar #574 to #571 - badgerclan (03/03/2013) [-]
And if you don't, a bunch of ******* civilians are killed and wounded and everybody who survives has to live with the grief and constant terror. THAT'S ******* PTSD! We send in troops to get Osama Bin Laden and how many civilians were killed? 0. How many would have been killed or hurt if we had blown up the building with a drone?
User avatar #577 to #574 - eclecticparadigm **User deleted account** (03/03/2013) [-]
The picture was referring to a soldier. Just saying how to help soldiers.
User avatar #578 to #577 - badgerclan (03/03/2013) [-]
Honestly, I don't care about helping a soldier if doing so hurts a thousand civilians. It's not a popular opinion, but I think that if we don't want to hurt soldiers we shouldn't go to war. If we decide that it is worth going to war, then soldiers are going to get hurt. That's their job and they agreed to it when they joined the military. Why is it that we have no problem with traumatizing and killing innocent people but the thought of traumatizing a single soldier is so awful?
User avatar #573 to #571 - eclecticparadigm **User deleted account** (03/03/2013) [-]
But it's a war. War ruin lives. But we are in a war right now. To prevent ruining lives in the future would be to stop all wars.

The difference is thusly:

Support the men and women who go overseas and serve in the military. They are doing a tough job and deserve all the praise we can possibly give them.

Vote out the ******* in congress who keep sending them over there!
#583 to #526 - anonymous (03/03/2013) [-]
Congress has no power over the military.
User avatar #615 to #583 - multimedia (03/07/2013) [-]
Congress is the only body in the US which can declare war. Lrn2politics.

The president can send troops anywhere for 90 days under executive order, but any longer needs congressional approval.

Ummm....... Looks like they're just on a phone.

I mean, who hides from fireworks with their legs crossed so casually like that.

No disrespect to people with PTSD or anything like that, but at least use a legit picture.
#540 to #525 - anonymous (03/03/2013) [-]
Crossing your legs reduces the amount of body shown from behind a barricade, which lessens your chance of being hit with artillery/bullets
#551 to #540 - muldawg (03/03/2013) [-]
Going to have to disagree with you there
I went to officer candidates school for the USMC, and while they described how to reduce one's silhouette, they never once mentioned that crossing your legs would be a good idea. Mainly because there are better ways to maintain cover and balance while returning fire.

Also, I'm pretty sure I'm spotting a satellite phone in her hand.
#597 to #551 - lelelelolelelo (03/04/2013) [-]
If he was on the phone, he wouldn't be covering both his ears like that, and looking downwards
#603 to #597 - muldawg (03/04/2013) [-]
Or maybe it's just loud because of the ******* fireworks.
#607 to #603 - lelelelolelelo (03/05/2013) [-]
both his hands are flat, and I highly doubt anyone has a ******* antenna on their phone nowadays. and again, why would he be looking STRAIGHT down on the ground if he was on the phone?
#610 to #607 - muldawg (03/05/2013) [-]
Natural human reaction.
When people are in loud places and they're on their phone, they'll usually hold it really close to their ear while covering the other ear with their hand. They almost always look down as well, even though it doesn't really help.

Anyways, I was just making an observation with my first comment, you really can't tell either way because it's not a high quality photo.
#611 to #610 - lelelelolelelo (03/05/2013) [-]
aye, could be either way. Let's leave it at that, no point arguing which is what anyway.
