This is why I get pissed when people try to sympathize with the Taliban. Every army ends up unintentionally killing civilians, it's an inevitability in war. But they truely do not give a **** about their own people. They'll detonate a suicide bomber in a crowded market and kill dozens of their own just to kill 2 or 3 american soldiers. Yet we're the bad guys.

Using human shields is not honourable. Pouring acid in girls eyes is not honourable. Calling for holy war is not honourable. Killing or supporting the death of 3000 innocent people is not honourable. Burning flags is not honourable. Wanting to suppress others is not honourable. Calling for a system that degrades people and changes the value of each citizen based on their status Is.Not.Honourable.

However, if you think that's what being honourable is like, then we have a very different definition of honour.

I'm not saying that the US government are white princes in shining armour or that this is the reason NATO along with other nations are in Afghanistan, but calling people like that honourable does not fit by our definition of honour.

I'll await your red thumbs now.

It's funny. I remember seeing this exact picture being posted about 4 years ago. Back then, everyone defended the post to their last breath, attacking like a rhinoceros the people who tried to flame the point of the post. Now this post is full of people who relish in the devaluing of what it means to dedicate ones life to the armed forces. It's funny how time changes attitudes, what people stand for on this post is completely different from what it was like 4 years ago, that's not a long time at all. I can't ******* imagine how this world will be in twenty.

I appreciate that you support your troops, I am a troop myself, but if you could stop intentionally causing ********** by posting biased things like this in Funnyjunk, that'd be great. You knew exactly what was going to happen when you posted this, and you posted it anyway. I came here in search of amusement, and what I got was quite the opposite.

The difference between good guys and bad guys is your upbringing, ideals, perspective, current situation etc.

Don't simplify things to the point of stupidity to make a "deep / powerful" statement.

yes, ******* the japanese in the ass certainly accounts for being the good guy. killing women and children sure is the act of good guys. torturing prisoners, hummiliating them sure is a random act of kindness. flying 2 planes into your own ******* people is wonderfull (strangely no jews worked that day.. what a coincidence!)
if we had a back story to this picture then i might even come close to believing that the soldiers are not taking this ****** prisoner and are guarding off his family. they probably raped his daughter and wife while making him and his son watch. dont ******* talk to me about saint american soldiers. **** you!

Listen everyone. One side kills innocents with the intention of killing them. The other has misinterpreted intel.

It's war, and criticizing a side is ignorance. This is similar to people saying all Germans were Nazis, or all Soviets were Communist.

ISAF soldiers(most of them) want to protect and free the people. There are those who join, to harm and feel power in their veins. Both sides can be considered Freedom Fighters, it all depends on who you are.

War is ignorance, but war is necessary.

I don't agree with some of the actions of the US military but I sure as **** am not supporting a ruthless, oppressive Islamic government that slaughters its own, and other country's, citizens at will.

So then the guys behind them are bad guys since the soldiers are shielding them? And since the soldiers are saving bad guys then they are bad guys?
User avatar #189 to #183 - grimhound (06/11/2013) [-]
the difference is, the soldiers are voluntarily being human shields, as opposed to being made human shields by the bad guys.

both Fox and MSNBC are for brainwashed idiots that have been sucked deep into the Left or Right. Watching those news programs aren't about trying to gain knowledge. It is about furthering your pathetic existence in your pointless political party

Honour, the difference between admitting your drones have killed hundreds of civilians and that you failed your objective of improving local security, and claiming you are the greatest.
User avatar #211 to #156 - Sethorein (06/11/2013) [-]
... Who claims they're the greatest :\

We just claim the soldiers were doing their best to help... But yeah the guys up top start to lose sight of the purpose behind their actions and end up wasting the lives of the heroes and those who they must engage with.

Near or in front of you, either way you are using an innocent as a means to dissuade others from attacking.
