This is what happens when sites like FJ turn into a community.
For those who were around from the start of FJ, I'm sure you remember this community thing, website fighting (9gag, /b/), thumbwhores, memes, rage faces and all this shit never interfered with the site.
Yes I'm aware some of these things didn't exist back then, but point still stands .. you give a community the ability to do anything, they'll act like retards.
