In fact most waitresses in the US make half than or less than minimum wage and I guarantee they work for it. Which is why if youre a good waitor/waitress I give more then the regular 15%.

in US most waitresses dont make minimum wage, tips make up for it, if they're short they get paid the rest

Actually, owners/managers where I live don't have to make up the difference. If I make 5 dollars in tips for a 12-hour shift, too bad, so sad. My boss does choose to make up the difference whenever he can, but seeing as how my town is a tourist town and only has a lot of business during the summer/holidays, he can't make up the difference because his business is surviving off the money we made in the summer.

Economy works this way. Nobody tips, waitresses quit their jobs. Lack of waitresses, increase in salary. Service is **** anyway, because the waitress expect to be tipsed either way. I never tip, if the service is crap.
