Faith in Humanity +1

It really makes me happy that someone in fast food, a job which most people only do because they really need the money would do this. It reminds me that there are amazing people in the world. I hope whoever did this has a fantastic life. I hope you all do too!

Having worked at a McD's myself and having done this and similar things... The reason you don't see this more often is because the management will fire employees for it. I used to bring out some of the left over food that's supposed to get thrown out and drive to where the homeless people hang out at night and give it to them. No charge, no expectation of any kind of return gesture.

I eventually got fired for 'stealing' food we were gonna be throwing out. It came to light that I was providing free food to local emergency services, basically ringing them up for employee meals after I was fired. I'm now perma-banned from all the franchise stores in my area(not that I care that much, I -know- what goes into the food after all). The system is set up to create asshole employees.

I'll bet this is like a really hot chick and the cashier is a total melvin and thought if he payed for her meal he might get laid.

I got fired from a local supermarket around 3 years ago for paying £20 towards an elderly woman's shopping because she was short of the cash. I don't think I did anything wrong but apparently according to the company it's theft..

*Through. *Paid.
People aren't that amazing, because they aren't even literate in their native language.

A person bought you some food and suddenly you've gained a point in how much you respect humanity?

don't worry, all humanity will be lost again when some random girl on Facebook makes a dumb comment

I was down a quarter yesterday at chipotle, and the guy behind me was like, hold on, pulled out his wallet. I expected him to give them a quarter, but he took the money from the cashier, and gave them his card, then gave me back the cash. I asked him are you sure, then because I work at American Eagle, gave him my employee discount anytime he comes in to the AE I work at. Saw him today, and he bought a shit ton of sweaters, and paid like 80 bucks

Wanna know what's great about working at Panera?

any extra bread is taken to homeless shelters at the end of the day

We're also implementing something where you can get a bowl of soup for free if you ask, you can pay less for your meal, or more so others can buy their meals for less.

Me and my girlfriend went to go to Genghis Grill, a Mongolian restaurant where you can make a custom meal, and a similar thing happened to us. We were eating and all of a sudden our waitress brought us a cheesecake, which we didn't order.
We told her that we didn't order a cheesecake, but she told us that two old ladies bought us our entire meal, and gave us that. It was an awesome feeling; however when we asked who they were she told us that they left. So I'm a little disappointed that we didn't get the thank them but it was still awesome.
Then when we went there again, we were treated again by the same waitress that served us before, she bought us another cheesecake. So that's amazing.

To all the people saying that simply because a person bought you food doesn't mean your faith in humanity should increase...........Lighten up. You don't need a supreme event for something like that. Just a simple gesture as such is a great reminder of how beautiful the human race can be.

Today, a man at a local store finished his purchase and left $50 to pay for people behind him.

I do that all the time for people at work. Owners have seen me do it and don't care, because the only thing they care about is that the right amount of money goes in the till.
