When I first saw this, it was on Reddit with a thousand or so likes and it was titled “Justice is Served”.

What Justice? Yes, the man got an upgrade and I am happy for him, but the racist woman got exactly what she wanted as well! She was rid of the man that she despised for no reason other than the color of his skin. She now had a vacant seat next to her for no charge, and the smug satisfaction that she complained and got what she wanted. Sure, she didn’t get the upgrade, but she never asked for it in the first place. In the end, the racist won too.

John Rawls defines Justice as giving each their due. The woman's due can be traced back to Plato's understanding of justice where Justice back then was nearly an eye for an eye. She looked down upon the black man and now she got the **** end of the stick. The black man's Justice was in the form that he was acting ethically correct, and therefore got the better end of the bargain. This is Justice in the simplest form.

>inb4 Rawlsian and Platonian Justice are different, they aren't/
>inb4 Justice in this country (US) doesn't always give each their due; Justice as an ideology has its rules and regulations and even if the judicial system cannot deal out justice, the idea of it can still be upheld and determined by others.

Also, she didn't get what she wanted. she wanted the black man to get treated like the second class citizen here, her as the first, because she wanted the seat change into something a little more "civilized". But she gets treated like **** .
