Anohana was the most feelsy anime I've watched. But how do the story and characters rank? Because I can't find something sad if I don't give a rat's ass about what's happening.

Kyou <=== shes a side character, they give her a depressing story in the extras arc

and the rest of the characters after that are just sides to the story, those guys i just listed are who you see the most and what they do reflects the story plot as a whole

I wasn't avoiding it, I have a LOT of animes on my list and ever since every site I used went to **** and torrenting doesn't work I have to watch them on Hulu after the people I live with go to sleep. So I just don't watch animes on a whim.

A lot of the sci fi stuff comes straight up from the VN, for example, the arc leading up to the aforementioned is probably the normal end of the VN. Meaning, what happens at the end of the anime is basically the true/good end but with the normal end as a vision of an alternate timeline. All and all it all it was really well done imo.

You should play(read?) the Tomoyo After VN. It's set after Tomoyo's route and is super feels as well. Preferably you should do Tomoyo's route in Clannad's VN first, but the Tomoyo OVA, while pretty crappy and rushed as **** , does cover her story, so it's optional. I don't think I've ever cried as hard as the scene where she says the line "My name is Okazaki Tomoyo"

The "good" ending was ******** though.

? Not in the end I got. Tomoya, Tomoyo, Tomo, Naoyuki, Takafumi and Kanako were all alive, Tomoya was just in rehab.

REALLY? thats weird, i honestly remember tomoya dying after going through a life risking surgery.

Weird. Maybe there's more than 1 ending? In the one I had, they had these scenes with Tomoya going through physical rehab after the surgery, and the very last scene was him in a wheelchair at the beach with Tomoyo while she did her monologue
