Depression
What it feels like - or very close at least.
I'm depressed myself and I just need to share it sometimes. In order for it to not destroy me completely.

Dude, I know this sounds stupid but seriously, start exercising. Use your depression to make you angry that your not happy, then use that anger to power you mentally to push you further and further each time you exercise. I've only been hitting the gym for a month but my god, I'm viewing everything in my life in a more positive way. Stay strong op
Also you're a faggot

Ok, time for serious time for people who feel depression.
It's natural, it's part of being human. We feel pain, but much like a superficial wound the pain eventually goes away as your soul heals itself. But sometimes the damage to our soul is so great that we never heal completely, we become colder and try to avoid putting ourselves in the position to be hurt again. We block people from getting close enough to hurt us, this is a defense mechanism. But to move on we have to recognize that this is what we are doing... we have to let down our guard and live life. Joy, happiness and love are the only emotions that are strong enough to beat depression. You just have to open yourself up to feeling those emotions again.
I've been "clinically depressed" when my wife died, then a few years later the woman I was seeing that I was deeply in love with left me. I know what the pain of losing a companion is like. I even attempted to commit suicide, twice. But then I discovered how to beat depression, and I did it by not allowing myself to be alone. I made friends, adopted a dog, and made it a point to try to spread laughter by being a funny guy around the people I worked with. It does get better, but you have to find the strength in yourself to pull yourself up and not give up, only you have the ability to make yourself happy.

There's a difference between sadness and depression and there's an even bigger difference between depression and plain self pity.
It's the same with depression as it was with all the "introverts" on funnyjunk, I'm sure there's actually real depressed people here, but I do belive there's an awful lot of self-diagnosed losers who keep using it as an excuse for being a little bitch.
If you have the real condition then it's pretty serious, but i've seen too many people who love being "sad" and having all the attention they getting and they use it as something to show up for people to make them feel sorry for them, they get rewarded when they're acting sad and that becomes a habit.
I have nothing against depressed people, but I don't think that many people on funnyjunk realize what it's mean to be really depressed.
