Sometimes the notion of prayer is not the advocate of the belief in physically doing the will of God, but is more to show that faith of any sort is being considered. But no, you're right, way to be an absolutely pedantic fool.

When doctors cannot save you, all you can do is hope and pray. After all, even if it just gives you some comfort, its worth it.
