I'm guessing that it get down-thumbs from people who (A) believe in God and also believe that (B) their god cannot deal with heretics himself.

You've got to admit, there's a lot of that kind of thing out there. Every time I hear a Muslim cleric declare that it is the duty of all Muslims to kill a certain person I have to ask, “Why can't your god do that himself if he finds it so offensive?”

I've never asked a Muslim that question. I'm sure they would have some kind of circular, unfalsifiable answer if I did ask.
