Okay either this man should have grown a pair and told her, or he should get over it. Seriously, why live your whole life hoping your love will magically come to you and fall in your arms? You might as well find some one who'll probably be a million times nicer who'll actually love you.

Be honest, would you wanna live 50 years holding on to the same girl when you can move on and be happy? I'm not trying to be an ass, I've loved a girl and not told her and I've seen her date other people, and it hurts.

Or ya know maybe he did and she shot him down, but he never could get over her and still loved her. Don't try to say it doesn't happen because it does.

But the old man said she doesn't know he loves her. He shoulda told her!

It could have been a case of she didn't know he loved her for that long. She may have thought he got over it when he didn't.

He said "I wish she knew" so i thought he meant he never told her, but i guess he could have meant that he wished she knew he loved her for 50 years. my apology

Its alright, I just feel like i should try to defend the story because while it hasn't been nearly fifty years but I had a situation similar to that where she shot me down and didn't know i still liked her later.

That exact thing happened to me 2 weeks ago...I spilled my love for her and she told me she's been in love with me for 2 years...but she just recently let me go. It hurts like a bitch and I've been trying to let her go, but I can't stop thinking about her.

I can understand that. I tried and chased after a girl for six months then I thought that i should try moving on... I thought wrong and spent another six months thinking of her. Kind of pathetic on my part, but hey I can't control how I feel about someone. Every situation is different, but what worked for me was being her friend and being happy that she moved on and likes someone else now. It may not truly make me happy, but it takes the sting off a bit.
