i want the game of the year edition for christmas

I got it on steam. It's a P.O.S. Now, bear in mind that I played fallout 3 to completion on PC using a friends disc shortly after launch, since my 360 version bugged out. So I recently re bought the game and the GOTY version is utter torrential shit. To make it work I had to:
1) edit the .ini files so the game only used two of the four cores in my PC, the GOTY edition hates using more than two (the original did not have this error)
2) download the unofficial patch
3) download a mod to disable games for windows live, as it would not log in to my totally legit windows live account.
4) download a second patch to patch the first patch, as the broken steel unofficial patch breaks rivet city.
Bethesda, why have you done this?!
