I tried to play it, but I just couldn't get anywhere with the mech they gave me and the progression was too slow for me to keep interest in it.

But if you pay them lots of money you can level up at the same rate as you would in a decent game!

I mean, comparing it to MWO, it just doesn't give you enough options to start with, in MWO, you get 16 trial mechs to play with, 4 of each weight class, and these even have a "meta-like" build on them. Hawken started me with 1 medium mech, and I had to play 5 matches to get a new gun for it.

I didn't like Hawken at all. It's not the slower pace, I'm all for that, but I was always up against people who'd paid, and were therefore better than me.
