I knew they made feral ghouls more zombie like, hell i've played it, but jesus christ this is something right out of goddamn day of the dead or shaun right here.
Ghouls were spooky at first.
But now if I find one thats a sort of threat (Legendaries or glowing ones..) I shoot a leg off and it can't move. Shoot all ghoul "bodies" on the ground before they get up.
I thought this worked on the fresh hell that is Assaultrons for a while too. Scariest thing so far is finding out that was not the case. ******* terminators.
I have a leg-crippling shotgun and I do this with deathclaws. Sometimes I go behind them and punch them to humiliate them. It takes ten minutes, but it is worth it.
Wait, do all legendary robots nuke explosion on death?
I've only seen Sentry bots do it, and the mentioned scariest thing ever caught on fire when I killed it. And I don't think it was a legendary.
Don't think I've ever seen a legendary robot at all, actually.
-all- sentry bots explode on death. But I do know that legendary Assaultron's and Mr. Gutys' (the horror of their machine gun tears you apart in seconds, as powerful as assaultron's head lazer, but their main goddamn weapon) -nuke- explode, not the smaller one a sentry bot does, nuke explode after a few seconds after death. Not sure on lesser robots though. This is of course if they're legendary.
Earlier today, I had a Legendary Mr Gutsy come at me like a suicide bomber.
Then its already exploded, pile of ashes body exploded again, in a much bigger explosion.
And here I thought it wouldn't because it was ashes.
I shout out a power armor core off a raider which exploded and killed a legendary gusty who then exploded and blew up a car. It was like watching Michael Bay's finest hour
I find its easier for me to fight Assaultrons by disabling the head then a leg, if they are still alive, usually are the tough bastards. Best thing ever when fighting a ghoul though is blow off one arm and a leg then they just glare at you.
ghouls for me have always been scary, I am currently giving fallout 3 another go I never got the chance to fully finish the story mode, got burnt out on side quests and I forgot how much ghouls scare me.
theres a church near the glowing sea, and i saw 1 or 2 ghouls and was like no big deal, so i jumped down. Started to wind up my gun, get hit, turn around about 25 ghouls are there, 3 or 4 legendaries. Scary moment just kinda had to spam stimpacs
That's why it's handy to have an automatic pipe pistol upped to as much damage and hip-fire accuracy as you can so you can just mow them down with the most abundant ammo in the game lol
I managed to get an "Explosive Combat Shotgun" from a legendary mob, making each bullet explode for 10 or 15 extra AoE dmg. When all the bullets of a shotgun explode... Well... You can imagine the carnage.
I was lvl 40 and only needed 5 shots to kill a normal Deathclaw, three shots to kill a Paladin in full Power Armor...

I found a 10 mm pistol that did the same. Made it full auto and gave it extended clip with the Hes jest receiver possible. That gun did some serious damage.
i'm looking down in through some holes in the roof and see a couple ghouls, i'm in power armor so i don't really give a damn about them, walking around the roof - thinking "if i go down there, how the hell am i going to get out?" because the roof of this church is ground level - and i fall through a damn hole.... ehh well, no big dea- HOLY **** THERE'S 20
throw a grenade, 3 jump/lunge at me, 5 go flying from the blast, get my combat shotgun and just start blasting without really aiming because there's so god damn many of them...
Build Targeting HUD mod for Power Armor helmet, you'll be able to see every single thing that has health passively. Including mines and ghouls or mirelurks laying in wait. It makes them glow red. Unfortunate side effect is it also makes every single NPC and companions you see glow red, too.
>playing on day one
>going to Diamond City
>Pass through Cambridge
>fairly empty, a couple ghouls here and there
>hear what sounds like an auto turret
>walk over to investigate
>get swarmed by 30-ish ghouls coming out of multiple buildings
Yeah, they're pretty scary. All I had equipped was a 10mm pistol and a machete
I wondered why there was her and the British guy on the airship. Like how did they even get into the US? Is there Brotherhood of Steel in England also in Fallout?
I'm irish, yet I still find the accent strange and kind of difficult to understand at times. may just be that it has a touch of the american accent in it.
Yeah I know that feel, when gta 5 came out it was amazing walking around the santa monica pier even found the place where they sell the ******* 10 billion dollar ice cream, good times.
ya dude i visited LA this year i couldnt believe how close the models are to real life. i was walking around santa monica like "ya i remember this place, I killed like 50 people and crashed a jet here before"
that's one thing I feel kinda sad about. I wish I knew anything about Boston so that I could orientate myself or recognize certain landmarks. Fallout 5 for somewhere in Texas pls Betedsa
Dallas-area buddies?
Yeah honestly I think if it was going to be in Texas, they'd definitely do Austin. At least I kinda grew up there so I'd recognize enough stuff there I think
pictured: us surveying the physical manifestation of our glorious state
I've been there enough that it would be vaguely familiar, and it would make for a great game
its a bit sketchy pretty cool and laid back though. I would have liked to go to school in Boston at tufts or someplace but that **** is was too expensive.
The dialogue in this game has made me anxious. One time I was at a settlement to recruit them for the minutemen. As I was talking to settler a buncha muties attacked. Casually had a Super Mutant Suicider allahu akbar my ass mid conversation. ******* love this game.
>Looting through a house
>Hear random scream
>Look back and see nothing
>Continue looting
>Hear scream again, this time louder
>Look back and see Ghoul about 40 feet away, running at me while screaming
>Look to my right and see two other Ghouls about to enter the house
Ghouls are actually somewhat threatening in this game..they dont do a whole lot of dammage, but theyve made me piss myself a few times..unlike the sluggish senile zombie thing in fallout nw..
oh yeah, they really outdid themselves with the animations this time around. It's a really nice little touch that adds a little more immersion to the game.
Not gonna lie, I tend to come across far more **** accents in the real world than I do nice or "authentic" ones. I think it's society's focus on stereotypes causing the, er... dumber of the human race (read; MOST of it) to imitate it naturally.
