I loved and hated that perk. You ever try finding a gorified body at night in tall grass.

Even though I've played New Vegas alot now I still love going to the boomers with company then turn on godmode and watch the people getting blown up

Please don't hate me, i recently got fallout 3. I just started and I'm already stuck..It says to find Galaxy Radio. currently I'm under ground but not sure if im doing this right.
User avatar #107 to #48 - mvtjets (08/27/2013) [-]
The section when GNR is can only be accessed by going underground.
#49 to #48 - itsbendingtime (08/27/2013) [-]
lol keep following the map.. if you see signs or writing on the wall saying "BoS outpost" then follow them.
Also yes, you should be underground, you have to go through the metro to get there.
User avatar #54 to #49 - trevcars (08/27/2013) [-]
Thanks bud!
User avatar #57 to #54 - hudis (08/27/2013) [-]
Once you're inside the city and bump into some Brotherhood of Steel dudes in heavy armour, you're on the right track. Just make sure you're actually inside the city because it's easy to get lost in those metro tunnels.

Also, this might be a personal preference but I'll say it anyway; don't despair because you can't find your way to Galaxy News Radio. It's a perfect opportunity to just do some exploring and sidequests if you find them until you get on the right track by accident!

Good Advice
User avatar #47 - spainisbad (08/27/2013) [-]
Should I try the Fallout series? I've heard they are good, but I am really lazy, and if I don't have a lot of "Yuss, it's incredible", I normally don't try the games.
User avatar #58 to #47 - hudis (08/27/2013) [-]
They are wonderful once you get into them, it's just that it's a very particular franchise and it can take a while to grow used to its theme and atmosphere. Other than that, Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas are some of the most enjoyable games I've played, so you might as well give them a try.
User avatar #59 to #58 - spainisbad (08/27/2013) [-]
I heard they ressemble a little bit to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, is that right?
User avatar #67 to #59 - ludislavonac ONLINE (08/27/2013) [-]
It's like stalker with more humor, especially Fallout new vegas
User avatar #69 to #67 - spainisbad (08/27/2013) [-]
That is a thing I may actually like. Thanks for the response.
User avatar #72 to #69 - ludislavonac ONLINE (08/27/2013) [-]
I'll give you some more info then. Both games have gameplay mechanics (such as fast travel, map markers etc.) very similar to the Elder Scrolls series (since Bethesda is the producer). F3 has a bit darker atmosphere, and everything does look far more post apocalyptic, but as I said it's still a humorfull game. The main quest/storyline is pretty good imo, you'll find some nice twists I assure you.
F:NV has a unique post apocalyptic wild west atmosphere and generaly everything looks more civilised. This game features several different endings, a crafting system which is rather lacking in F3 and the cool casinos of New Vegas.
Both games have some cool DLC which should give you a lot more hours of fun.
Anyway I highly recommend both games, you won't regret if you buy/pirate them, have fun mate.
User avatar #73 to #72 - spainisbad (08/27/2013) [-]
I thought stalker was made by same Croatians? Anyway, just saying it's a bit like the Elder Scrolls really convinced me. Thanks for wasting your time pouring knowledge to me, anyway.
User avatar #74 to #73 - ludislavonac ONLINE (08/27/2013) [-]
Oh by both games I meant F3 and F:NV, I don't know who made stalker though
User avatar #75 to #74 - spainisbad (08/27/2013) [-]
Oh ok haha. So yeah, from what I've heard and read the stalker series was made by some Croatians. Fun fact: it's based on a russian science fiction book, "Roadside Picnic", wich has like nothing related to the series.
User avatar #76 to #75 - ludislavonac ONLINE (08/27/2013) [-]
I looked it up, it was made by an Ukrainian developer, you're probably mistaking it for Serious Sam which was made by Croteam
User avatar #100 to #76 - spainisbad (08/27/2013) [-]
Something like that, I don't know much about eastern Europe countries, I mix em up a lot.
User avatar #61 to #59 - hudis (08/27/2013) [-]
A little bit, I guess. The common denominator is sort-of-post-apocalypse - other than that the two are very different. Where STALKER is dark, gritty, realistic and terrifying, Fallout takes the post-apocalypse theme more broadly but also more lightly. There is not so much focus on how horrible everything is, but much more focus on the different people and characters interacting in the wasteland. Still there are times when I've sat on the edge of my seat scared ******** while hearing ghouls nearby - but what I mean is that Fallout is more varied when it comes to things like that, in my experience.
User avatar #63 to #61 - spainisbad (08/27/2013) [-]
Well thanks, now I'm surely gonna get them Fallout games. By the way, are they in Steam? Because if they are, my Steam is broken and I can't do anything.
User avatar #64 to #63 - hudis (08/27/2013) [-]
Think you can buy the retail non-Steam versions online, not sure where is best, though. Otherwise try reinstalling Steam, I guess. If you're feeling up to it you could also just download the games off of thepiratebay and get them both free and without Steam-requirement.
User avatar #65 to #64 - spainisbad (08/27/2013) [-]
TRied reinstalling Steam various times, changed settings, tried changing proxy, firewalls... still keeps saying it can't connect to the internat. Anyway, I suppose i can get the Piratebay version. Ahoy the life o' pirate!. Thanks, I'd thumb up if I could.

I'm guessing it was the sniper in the broken down church in Fallout 3 that inspired this one.

I picked it at first, because it sounded awesome, but I've played Fallout New Vegas a few times now and I only picked the perk on the first playthrough.
Watching people explode into bloody mist gets really repetitive and boring
User avatar #66 to #44 - karson (08/27/2013) [-]
I agree, I thought it was great at first, but it got kinda annoying when i would shoot a guy with a 9mm pistol and all his limbs would explode.
User avatar #121 to #66 - ThatsSoFunnyHeHe (08/27/2013) [-]
It always felt weird when I'd punch a dude in the face and his legs would fall off.
User avatar #53 to #44 - fuzzyballs (08/27/2013) [-]
I know, but the +5% damage thing is kinda worth it
and besides, without it, any cripled limb the enemy has when you kill him still explodes anyways
User avatar #45 to #44 - karvarausku ONLINE (08/27/2013) [-]
I know right... Even thou I don't use the perk I still manage to **** up them pretty good.

On top of the pistol, his suit is badass, has little to no protection, but it has speech and barter +5 and it's ******* black and white checker pattern, what's not to like
User avatar #26 to #23 - fatspartan ONLINE (08/27/2013) [-]
If you let him live, you get good karma, but he has a weapon on him called Maria which is a rare 9mm handgun. I don't know if you can pickpocket it from him or if he has it at all at the point I'm assuming you're at. I usually let him live cause I tend to play the "Saint of the Wastes" route and I usually use Energy weapons so the Maria 9mm is of little importance to me.

Bottom line, it really comes down to weather or not you want the Maria 9mm

you could actually just pickpocket it with a high sneak skill i'm prety sure
User avatar #31 to #30 - emplify (08/27/2013) [-]
If I remember correctly my sneak is quite low, but since he's cuffed at the Fort he probably won't mind me pickpocketing him anyhow.

gotta love fallout 3 and new vegas, though would be awesome to try the first ones of series
#50 to #22 - lambslider (08/27/2013) [-]
The style of the first two is nothing like the more recent ones. Its all about turn based fighting, which can be a bit boring to someone who's only played 3 and NV.

i know for a fact, i am NOT the only one that would take that perk... and i like that fact, its a good fact
