I play Bethesda games for adventure
As long as they keep making open worlds that are fun to explore I'll keep buying their games

Wasn't disappointed, had fun, story wasn't amazing but I didn't expect an amazing story

I thought it was pretty good.

Dialogue took a hit, but the voice acting and story was better than i'd come to expect of a Bethesda game. Gameplay was a big improvement, settlement building is fun, weapon modification is cool, and we get the usual modding but now a bit on consoles as well. Music is great. World design is very good, but there seems to be more loading, obfuscated as "elevators".

Visuals are good, not amazing, but not bad considering how many objects are in the world. For me at least it runs very well, i'd expect crashes and performance issues but no, it runs quite well.

Don't know why people keep ******** on Fallout 4, seems more like an attempt to be edgy than anything.

bethesda pretty much made a story and world of the same quality as Fallout 3, although voice acting was definitely better(barring preston) and I didn't mind the voiced protagonist(except for the obvious fact that they had to cut down on the number of dialogue options because of that). The main thing with Bethesda worlds is that they're "as wide as the ocean, but deep as a puddle"(something a friend told me, i thought it sounded good and described them well), and gameplaywise was a massive upgrade, so it wasn't a bad game, it just could've been better(i was hoping that it would have a stronger story, and saw several times where IMO there were better things that were right there and bethesda just didn't see them)

This video displays why I hate FO4's dialog system

Your typical dialog options are: Yes, No (Yes), or Sarcastic (Yes)

The story was **** and way too focused on the Protagonist who already has a ******* family and child that you're supposed to care about, even though I literally forgot about the main quest until I found out you have to progress the story to join the BoS

The gameplay is solid, but gets very old very fast, and the gun mods are more tedious than fun

Power Armor is cool, but too overpowered and you get it way too early. Also the animation for it is retarded

Base building makes no sense, especially since it was tacked on near the end, nowhere near polished

There is no replay value unless you really like base building. There's no memorable parts to it, and in the end the only character that I cared about was Liberty Prime since he's baller

More specifically, there's hardly any RPG elements left at all, leveling up isn't satisfying at all, there's no real sense of a big world, and ******* New Vegas had more **** to do in the ******* desert

It's not an attempt to be edgy, I just don't like the game since it's homogenized mass appeal ******** that isn't at all what I like.

I love how people are thumbing you up but me, down, even though we made a few of the same points.

Never change, FJ.

My specs meet the requirements yet I'm plagued with framerate and stuttering issues because Bethesda doesn't believe there are any other cards out there besides NVIDIA.

Bethesda just recycled their storyline from Fallout 3 (which I thought was fine for a first time). So if you wanted a new adventure, oh well.

Factions are too overzealous. In New Vegas (probably a bad idea to compare an actual Fallout game to Bethesda's Fallout, but whatever) each faction had a major enemy, but sometimes you could broker a peace between them with enough work.

Some of the 'features' are funny, as with previous games, but I've just encountered one, over and over, and it breaks my game. When I shoulder my rifle, I have a 50% chance to go flying up to the skybox and land halfway across the map, dying on impact. I know in Fallout it's advised to save often, but this is ridiculous.

Power Armor has been buffed up to act like an actual tank, which I like, but the power core stuff breaks lore so ******* hard. Whenever Bethesda wants to do something, but it breaks established cannon, they just ignore it and right new 'on-the-spot' cannon to get what they want. Plus, I managed to fight the Deathclaw, walk back to Sanctuary Hills TWICE, and then to some car factory I don't remember the name of, and my power core never dipped below 50.

I never got to experience the base building, or weapon crafting, because of these things (but mostly the framerate and stuttering).

So that's why I think Fallout 4 is a ******* failure of a game.

I'm playing on a ****** ass laptop and I've barely encountered any bugs. The game has crashed a few times, but compared to NV or 3 this game runs like a ******* dream. Of course, this is all anecdotal and varies from person to person, so assuming that Fallout 4 runs like crap on every computer just because yours isn't the best is a bad idea.

"Bethesda recycled the storyline from 3" Oh really? Lemme guess, you're going based off of the fact that in Fallout 3 you're a kid looking for their father and in 4 you're a father looking for their son? Yeah, that's pretty similar... except that only encompasses part of the story. Hell, New Vegas follows the formula of "you start out as a guy looking for another guy" too and I notice you ignoring that. Hell, by your logic Obsidian is more guilty of copy-pasting because the end of the storyline in both 3 and NV involves you deciding the fate of the big water based machine.
If you simplify things enough, everything's going to seem similar. Might as well say I'm a clone of Nelson Mandela because we're both carbon-based lifeforms.

"You could make the factions get along in New Vegas" Have you played New Vegas? The three main factions are all vying for control of New Vegas. The NCR will never get along with the Legion. The Legion will never get along with Mr. House/Independent Courier. Mr. House/Independent Courier will never get along with the NCR. The closest you can come to "making peace" is doing quests for the minor side factions until they're ready to suck your dick and aid you in your takeover of the dam.

For your point about features, yeah that sucks man and I hope they patch it, but see my first statement.

Oh look, someone else complaining about Power Armor breaking the lore because fusion cores don't last forever. Power Armor finally feels like a bipedal tank instead of just another apparel item, which is how it was always meant to feel. The problem with this is that Power Armor was supposed to be strong enough to let one man stand against a dozen with ease, and that doesn't make for good gameplay. The Cores were added in to compensate for the power of the Power Armor, though in my opinion they are way too common and easy to find. I used Power Armor regularly for my first run through, and I still had over 60 fusion cores by the time I reached the Glowing Sea. If Bethesda makes Fusion Cores a rare and valuable resource, I'll be perfectly fine with the break from lore. Let's be honest - something as minor as this isn't ******* gonna ruin your game.

Dude, there are legitimate problems with this game and you shot over them in favor of complete nonissues like a dumbass. No mention of the stripped down speech or the meaninglessness of SPECIAL stats in terms of quests and NPC interactions, which are two of the most problematic parts of the new game. It's people like you that make me wish people had to pass an INT check to bitch about things.

Soo... They tried something new and you don't like it. That's what I'm getting from this comment. Also you must have had a **** ton of problems with Episode VII then.

Posting this webm because I can, it's a free website ****** .

tl;dr: Fallout 4 is bad because my PC can't run it very well so I didn't get to experience the entirety of the game, so I read a bunch of /v/ threads and figured they must be right

You may be b8 and you may be getting thumbed down, but you're right. I was disappointed by the story (amoungst other things) even though the gameplay was great.
