I'll have you know I've only bought 33 games during this Steam sale and I still have at least $4.80 in my checking account.

>build the **** out of sanctuary
>wait for it to be attacked
>settlement to the far south that I just assisted gets attacked instead
>tfw I'll never get to see how Sanctuary holds up to a raider assault
User avatar #31 to #9 - robotvoice (01/02/2016) [-]
i think having a high defense rating lowers the chance of attack.

Does this game alert you of settlements being under attack even when you're not playing?
User avatar #51 to #2 - dextrain (01/02/2016) [-]
This might help www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4106/?
Doesn't make it any less annoying when attacked, but at least you won't miss it.

Yeah but very vaguely in the corner of the screen. I mostly notice it once I've already failed to defend it
User avatar #6 to #2 - thebluedream (01/01/2016) [-]
**** tells me all the time when I am fast traveling or waiting YOU FAILED TO DEFEND and it drives me nuts, I lost Abernathy farm thus a supply for wood
User avatar #4 to #2 - fasthink (01/01/2016) [-]
No, it's just very annoying because you could be doing part of a quest already but a settlement will be attacked and you only have a limited amount of time to defend it. If you don't shot up to help defend it, even if it's a well fortified settlement, it will count as failure and settlers, crops, and water pumps will be destroyed.
User avatar #20 to #4 - novus (01/02/2016) [-]
I haven't actually gotten that far yet. It'll be a failure even if it's super well defended but you don't show up?
User avatar #21 to #20 - fasthink (01/02/2016) [-]
yep

User avatar #34 to #22 - sonoobish (01/02/2016) [-]
yea thats the worst part about fallout 4 is that they cant DEFEND for themselves even if a settlement has over 200 defense

That's less of a quest and more handholding for the people too dumb to find that **** during regular exploring.

Load up my save 5 seconds later "Failed to defend settlement."
Reload save quickly go to the settlement. Arrive at settlement hear one gunshot settlement defend successful. Be praised like a god for defending the settlement.
I really hate the settlement defending system in this game

They should let you retake Quincy for a minuteman/Preston Garvey quest.
User avatar #27 to #10 - stroganoff (01/02/2016) [-]
You ought to pitch that to the modding community, that's a great idea.
#52 to #27 - malifauxdeux (01/02/2016) [-]
Maybe. They definitely should have at least put in some special dialog with Preston. Particularly since many of the gunners there were people who took place in sacking Quincy. Particularly Clint who betrayed the minutemen.

You'd think modders would make something against this **** .

There are already a couple mods that just erase Preston's "go here, do this" missions from coming up, even on Freedom Radio, I think. You can still do them, you're just not obligated to do them.

****** hated the Minutemen. Literally nothing but outpost quests make up the entirety of their questline.

>Join Minutemen to help people
>Spend time building them homes, shelter, and defense
>Spent thousands and thousands of caps to help protect your settlers
>Lug hundreds of pounds of material around
>Build and wire electric generators so they don't have to pump their own water and can listen to radio or watch tv
>Rush to the rescue if a settlement is rescued
>Try to help them with anything they need help with
>Give them enough beds and everything

my feet hurt
easy livin', this aint
this sucks
Can't you do anything to help out
Do i look like I want to talk to you right now

I only have my companions with me on Spectacle Island. It really is hard not to kill everyone there

Fallout 4 is a great game but for ***** sake will they fix the ******* game already! My favourite glitch to date is something that just started happening to me today. The game will auto favourite weapons like 10mm whenever I pick them them up for no reason. It will also do it when I take them out of my workbench, auto favouriting and equipping weapons like the security baton or 10mm I have stored there. Even if I unfavourite it and then pick it up again, it still does it. Is there a way to fix the glitch (I'm on ps4)?
User avatar #44 - thetoxicketchup (01/02/2016) [-]
Anyone know, workshops and stuff aren't locked if you don't do any Minutemen stuff, right? Like, if I just "accidentally" kill them all can I still build?
User avatar #45 to #44 - Toshiro (01/02/2016) [-]
Actually you can build without talking to anyone, but you can only enter it with the bench after "unlocking it".

That said, you should be able to unlock many of them without being with the minutemen, as many settlement quests are started by talking to the settlers
User avatar #42 - thetoxicketchup (01/02/2016) [-]

Good mod to have, marks all those ****** "radiant" filler quests so that you know what to avoid.

What is it with people holding one handed knife in both hands in every ******* movie/show ever?
User avatar #37 to #28 - luluwho (01/02/2016) [-]
I think it's just instinctive, as if it gives them a better grip on the knife. It makes the grip worse, imo.
