I think they should try a different country. Japan would be nice, or China because of the way Communism plays in to the story. Other than that, New York is prime. I actually wrote a creative writing assignment called "Fallout: New York" once.

I personally want them to do New York as a state. Theres literally so many terrains that you could easily do a dozen DLCs for it. DC was awesome,and New Vegas was. Until you get assraped by Cazardoes and Deathclaws.

NY would have NYC(imagine a city run by gangsters like new al capones and not sissies like you see in New Vegas) you could have the Great Lakes,Finger Lakes,and even Canada as the USA annexed Canada in the Great Resource Wars.

I seem to remember that the entire country between the rockies and the appalachians was a gigantic radioactive dust bowl, and it seem to me that New York would probably have taken several direct nukes, just because it is so important

ONly really the Armory and the few bases that were were left. NYC would be DC. But Albany would have been spared I believe.

Everything is based on 50's culture and the 50's ideas of an American future. Furthermore, head developers from both Obsidian and Bethesda said as long as they had anything to do with Fallout, it would stay in the U.S. Taking it anywhere else would change the feeling entirely.

Well, who's to say that the Brotherhood or Enclave wouldn't have outposts there? It's mostly undeveloped land there. Perfect place to have a super base.

oh another good point would be that the ghoul/supermutant africans would STILL be fighting each other over tribal differences
there might actually be a mission in that, where you help one side to kill the other and get rewards

plus a little joke sideline story about ghouls in ukraine, - the werent nuked, they were already there in chernobyl

why stop at mainland Europe? why not extend the sandbox to parts of the former soviet federation? you know, get a chance to see what we were fighting, rather than what we fought for.
