One of my favorite characters. I remember when I was traveling with someone else and went back to ask him to travel again.
He said, "With you? I wouldn't miss it for the world."
MFW
...Welp, kind of hard to argue with that really. I followed them mostly because I ran into Danse and I thought he was cool, and before I knew what was going on, I had killed the railroad and was putting the finishing touches on Liberty Prime. I don't like the Institute that much but I really don't agree with all the Brotherhood does what with killing anything non human. But I didn't want to be on the business end of liberty prime and I had met some good characters there. I think it was proof that just because an organization might be wrong, not everyone in it is bad people. I was expecting there to be some kind of peaceful ending where everyone puts aside there differences and all, because the Institute could have given so much to the commonwealth, but I don't like the whole switcharoo thing they pull with synths. But every now and then I still wonder if I made the right choice.
except they didn't. you can literally find holotapes in fallout 4 that details what happens to lyons and sarah, and how maxson is following their teachings.
Just was checking up on the wiki to make sure and found this
"After the events of Fallout 3 the East Coast Brotherhood of Steel faced a leadership crisis after Elder Owyn Lyons died of natural causes and his daughter Sarah Lyons was killed in combat shortly afterwards. The East Coast Brotherhood repeatedly appointed and deposed several ineffectual Elders until Arthur Maxson was appointed Elder of the East Coast Brotherhood by the West Coast Elders in 2283 at the age of 16, the youngest in the history of the Brotherhood, after displaying exceptional skill as a capable warrior and diplomat by defeating the supermutant leader Shepherd and brokering peace with the Brotherhood Outcasts, bringing them back into the fold.
Expect that you can find a holotape that says he reunited them when he was just sixteen which is why they're so engrossed with him being Elder and it seems like he's doing what his family does best.
>brotherhood scum
>literally does everything to help the people of commonwealth while railroad sits underground stroking their dicks about how cool they are.
The Brotherhood orders you to force farmers to give away crops to their ********* fraternity of robo-monks. If you don't pass a speech check, you ******* murder them and take their farms by force. If you've been Minutemanning up the Wasteland, establishing new settlements and fostering their growth, and then later join the Brotherhood, they give you quests to go strongarm those same farms!
You drank the Kool-Aid, dawg. Bethesda gave you three other worthy factions and you let yourself be seduced by the one whose only perk is that they give away power armor, WHICH YOU ALREADY HAVE?!
in one, after mariposa, because you've seen too much.
in two, after dealing with the enclave, because you're a filthy tribal,
in tactics/brotherhood, because you were excommunicated from them.
in new vegas, because the entire mojave is put into concentration camps.
concentration camps is an exaggeration. they just heavily regulate trade and take any technology - energy weapons, life saving filtration units, et cetera.
there are six endings for the brotherhood of steel.
three end with "and they began to patron the interstates, harassing traders for their technology.
the others are:
if you wipe them out
if you side with NCR and don't support the brotherhood
if you side with caesars legion.
Only took out raiders.
and the institute, who are arguably the bad guys.
and the minutemen, who are the only people who actually help the commonwealth, because they are the commonwealth
and the railroad, which believes everything with thought is worth letting think.
The brotherhood is, throughout all of the games sans 3 - which is why everyone rides their dicks so god damn hard - a cesspool of power-hungry hate mongers who would rather have generations of stagnent, incestuous genepools than mate with "primitave tribals" - aka literally anyone who isn't a brotherhood member. they strongarm people out of technology, even if it isn't actually pre-war, and literally lay waste to towns harder than caesars legion does in a good week.
they go to war with the minutemen in the final battle, even if you side with them. if you side with every faction, they literally all go at each other and ignore you. **** the railroad for what reason? because they don't want to kill Curie, Valentine, and DANSE (their most loyal ******* member)
the brotherhood execute you if you support them anyway, man. But yeah, ad "V"ictorium it's actually pronounced ad wictoria but the inbreds in shiny metal armor are too stupid to pronounce it correctly
danse needed to die, he was a synth.
I don't remember fighting the minutemen at all... I was sided with them and brotherhood. **** the railroad though, they deserved it. They also never killed nick in my run from what I remember.
Ad Victoriam, brother.
Works out with synths.
also, curie's body is only synthetic. Her programming is hyperadvanced AI based off of preexisting personality. essentially a clone of thoughts.
Jesus ******* hell you two.
First: The Brotherhood doesn't go to war with the Minutemen at all unless you side with them before the final battle. For ***** sake you can even ask them to support the Brotherhood if you want.
Second: Not all synths need to die, reprogrammed ones that have any institute recording/connecting components removed are fine. Aside from them, they're ******* machines that can be deactivated by saying a phrase aloud by anyone. So no, they're not distinguishable by humans as the RR likes to preach.
Third: Lyon's chapter and Maxson's chapters are different for several reasons. Lyon's was for D.C and to destroy the Super Mutant infestation (aside from clearing out the Enclave) and to help bring peace to The Capitol Wasteland. Maxson's is to push-down and defeat the Institute by any means necessary. It blows that Maxson believes they need to be destroyed with no room for working together, but it's just how it goes.
Final: The RR is legitimately what happens when you arm a bunch of hippies who think they can save the world by bringing down "THE MYAN, MYAN!" and that fleshlights are more than sex toys. So no, they suck in general.
TL;DR? Both of you are wrong (granted darkside is just a troll the amount of bs from both of you was disgusting, shame dndxplain)
Hey man no need to get all butthurt. take the super mutant dick out of ur ass, and dont come crying to me when ur junk falls off kuz you been bangin too many ghouls.
I didn't know either, wish I did because I like them best. I didn't know Railroad was a main quest option so I joined them for side quest value, and they were anti-Institute and could help me find my son.
The institute is the lesser of all evils. BoS is just nazis no real need to explain that.
But the railroad is willing to kill families. woman and children to save some machines that MIGHT be sentient and reduce humanity back to living in the waste land. They're really just PETA. At the end when you cause an uprising the railroad kills EVERYONE in the institute, all the families, everything AND destroys the fusion reactor that could literally save mankind. All on the notion that the synths living in hardship deserve more freedoms then the people that made them. The synths that get free at the end are like "wait this is the surface?! holy **** this sucks?!"
The institute only kills the railroad leaders. And since you become the head of the institute after your son you can potentially make the changes to how the synths are being treated note that's just head canon not real thing Cuz i was all "protect sentient life" until I became the leader of the Institute then I was like **** the railroad there's another way. Also the fact that the institute was only messing with people on the surface to build the reactor means the institute is going to disappear from the common wealth. So in the end Me being in control of the minute men as a standing army and aid group combined with the resources of the institute could actually better humanity. The railroad is basically just trying to make everyone's lives equally ****** .
You can hear the Supermutants sometimes encourage you to kill the weak ones so the best genes live on.
Super-mutants are not from radiation like ghouls are, rather a rapid evolutionary virus that creates monsters well-suited for a radiated environment. They are an invasive species rather than a product of the radiation.
If I remember correctly they 'reproduce' by capturing humans and exposing them to the FEV virus, which makes more of their kind.
also Ghouls aren't FEV like mutants are, but in Fallout 3 the residents of underworld say that the super mutants let them live, and they think its because the mutants view them as like a 'little cousin' as they are both derived from humans.
Never said anything about ghouls, but you are right on the mutants capturing people to expose them to FEV.
The only time I can recall a Super Mutant being picked for genes was by the Enclave for Frank Horrigan, who ended up being strong enough to rip Deathclaws in half. The normal muties don't really discriminate, shown in the case of Lily Bowen or Dog/God.
He has a pretty good voice, but I can't get over hearing the Skyrim shopkeepers every time he talks...
Bethesda reuses good voice actors for the most part, so that can help ensure quality but at the same time they reuse a LOT and it can be immersion breaking for me sometimes, because most of the voice actors they reuse have quite distinctive voices or a limited set of voices they do.
Anybody else catch that bit where you're on the lowest floor of Fort Hagen and he says "Some people never lose their fondness for living in a basement"?
You know, guys, you can give me all the **** you want for helping the institute and destroying the Brotherhood and the Railroad, but check this out, as the main character I'm now the director of the institute, and I can say that no more FEV experiments, no more kidnapping, and I can write a lengthy code of ethics all those nerds will have to follow, or else.
You Ad Victoriam retards? you're still gonna be cunts, you're still gonna want Nick, Danse and Curie (as a Synth) dead, so **** you, and **** you hard.
You Railroad retards? here's your philosophy: "THESE SYNTHS WILL BE WIPED AND GIVEN A NEW IDENTITY IF THEY'RE CAUGHT, QUICK, LET'S WIPE THEM AND GIVE THEM A NEW IDENTITY", literally the only reason why you are different is because first of all you are a bunch of cavemen that lack the technology to make the advanced technological marvels you toy with, and second, the things you fill their heads with are different, sometimes turning them into very dangerous raiders, even.
