I've walked fresh out of the Enclave base in advanced power armor, ambushed by some fire geckos and got one-shot by a critical breath weapon hit.

akulakhan ONLINE (12/21/2015) [-] Oh yeah, classic rpgs and their dice rolls. Had a similar experience in FO2, when I got killed by a bandit with a shotgun because he scored a sick critical. I was also wearing Enclave power armor at the time and the last save was 6 hours ago. Long story short I learned not to get cocky even with such gear.

schneidend (12/22/2015) [-] No question, it's strong, but a press gang with SMGs or fire geckos can still wreck you if you're low level, even if they don't get particularly lucky. It's just much easier for them to get lucky. And, since they're attacking in groups and thus getting a million attack rolls, well, the odds are rather in their favor.

I did it once, and never finished the game with that character. It got boring.
BTW, SMG's ain't doing **** against tough armors, low arp. Scoped hunting/sniper rifle lucky crit pissed me off most of the time.

I played solo Because I hated having a team back then and focused my skills on Small Arms (To the point that I got +200% on it), Doctor and Speech (I think) but my Luck was terribly average, with some good Agility/Perception/Endurance ranks.
I could almost always 2 burst a Mutant, granted both bursts hit, and at best, I would need a clip. And for Robos, I stacked AP ammunition.
