Not without the Broken Steel plugin. Broken Steel has you saved by the Brotherhood after the events in the purifier, and you wake up after I think about six weeks. However, it's bullshit that you die in the base game, as The Spoony One said "why don't they just dump me back in the Wasteland and say 'Change will take a long time, so keep on exploring'?"
I liked Point Lookout and The Pitt, which add the ability to go other places besides the capital. I tried to played the Alien DLC (Mothership Zeta, I believe) but it glitched out and I didn't know how to use console commands (I Play on the PC). Haven't played Aiding the Outcasts and don't plan to, but I've heard people say that one's more action based then the others. Point Lookout is mostly about exploration, and it has some cool story moments. The Pitt is more straightforward shooter, and it also grants you a few perks that make the rest of the game much easier-it's like going to Shivering Isles before beating the Oblivion main game.
