I'd rather wait for them to come up with all of the best ideas they can for a game and release on the next gen consoles. If they use blu-ray technology for games instead of DVDs, they can fit an insane amount more content and even graphics in the same size disc. I'd rather wait for the 9.7-10 game that I'm sure Fallout 4 should be than have it be released as an end-of-this-generation game as a 9.0.

Can this console generation be the last? Everything seems somewhat perfect for everyone, really.

Or instead of blu-ray they could go with the cloud. I've heard rumors that's what the next gen Playstation will be doing.

That'd be pretty sick, but only as an option. If you have to stream your games, you NEED an internet connection (preferably a really good one). Downloading the games would be cool, too. If you have to stream it, there would be a higher chance that you'd have to be logged in to play a game, which, as PC gamers know, really, really, really sucks bad. It's much worse than it sounds.

I was all for the idea but your explanation makes me think twice about it now. It would be a problem to stream a game and suddenly your connection fucks up or you can't play offline.

It all depends. There's a game I downloaded a few weeks ago and haven't played it more than two hours because you're forced to be logged in. It's how they try to stop the apparently "huge" problem of piracy.

not to mention... no fucking second hand games! seriously, not all of us can afford to buy new games
.
.
or is that just me?
i'll just go back to my corner now

Supposedly by offering the games for download only, they would be cheaper.

true, but everyone's gonna need super-fast internet, huge hard drives, and willing to pay for (presuambly) unlimited internet bandwidth. So... you don't really save that much at all..

The rumors say next gen is planned to either be announced/out next year. We will see.
