i dont like to be a fanboy clearly you have no issue with this . i enjoyed the other games and i will probably like this one as well, but that doesnt mean its some flawless godsend either.
I don't think it'll be flawless, Bethesda games always have their problems.
But like Fallout 3, New Vegas, Skyrim, Oblivion and Morrowind, I will almost guaranteed sink countless hours into that **** for years because the strengths so heavily outweigh the flaws.
bethesda stopped making good games after oblivion (the shivering isles)... so don't be so sure about fallout 4 not being a casual pleb game...
New Vegas was also far superior to Fallout 3, also not made by them...
did i say that it will be? i agree with your first statement. But from what i've seen i like it so far. Gameplay wise Fallout never seizes to amaze, so i've had good times with the Fallout series, i really hope it doesnt ****** .
Halo 4 set a record in sales for the franchise, and received universal acclaim from critics. It's a great game, regardless of whether it "feels like Halo" or not. Most of the people who bitched about that were people who had no interest in the extended lore anyways, and I was sick of MC having as much characterization as a potato. Each member of Noble Team had more characterization than Chief did in the first three games.
You're forgetting that Bethesda made Skyrim which turned out to be a massive disappointment and a huge setback for the genre. Yeah, i'm holding out on my opinion for the game.
past does not define the future.
hell, anno 2205 just came out, and apparently is way ******** than the last one.
call of duty, assassins creed, battlefield, all examples of having kickass games, got people hyped about the next one, and it failed hard.
Watch(underscore)dogs was announced WAAAAY too early in development, thus created ass tons of hype it wasn't able to live up to, fallout 4 was announced when the game was basically finished, so it was able to hype with actual gameplay and such, though Fallout 4 won't be perfect, it is still far from being on the **** level of Watch_Dogs
I could rail off a list of games that looked amazing but were unfinished or **** . Fallout 4 doesn't look amazing, the game play looks clunky, the animations awful, the graphics average at best. but hey, its still marginally better than New Vegas
youre right, even the leaked footage didnt look that impressive, i mean what they added to the gameplay is pretty cool and all, but i expected more graphically, the face animation when npc talk to you is horrific, would completely break the immersion for me.
basically im not hyped anymore for the game, ill get it, but ill wait fro some good mods to be out before
You're right. You shouldn't judge a game before it's out. But it's okay to expect some type of quality judging by the previous releases of the developers. Oblivion was great, too good for its time, Fallout 3 was almost perfect, New Vegas was good but too buggy, Skyrim will always be around, although i hate how modders butcher it, we can expect F4 to be good as well.
Exactly
It was stupid of the doomsayers to constantly be banging on about how they magically knew the game was going to be **** months before it got released. Even with the gameplay trailers, it's equally stupid of anyone to do the opposite and act as if they know the game's going to be good before it's been released.
As people pointed out, early copies have been sent to many gamers, with an NDA for spoilers and actual content, but they have all spoken well in regards to both of these things. This post wouldn't have made sense a couple of weeks ago though.
True enough, but there's a difference between saying:
"It's fun"
and
"It's pretty big and plays well".
Also, the primary reason I've seen games given out like this is because people want gameplay footage day 1 and full reviews day 1, so IGN would for example likely keep getting games regardless of what they say, where as Achievement Hunter may be under that situation you bring up.
i am in no way saying it will be bad or even just okay, i believe it will be good. but a picture like this is just praising a game for not only being filled with content but overflowing with it, and there is no real way of knowing right now if thats the case, and even if the burger is big that doesnt mean it wont taste like **** .
We've already seen a lot of leaks from people that had review copies for FO4, so it's not blind praise, although the people saying it's going to be the best game ever clearly haven't seen the leaks.
i go there sometimes
wouldnt call myself a regular but its a good stress reliever to drop by and yell at people and **** on FO4 baselessly
really all i am mad about is repair and karma
I never really played a fallout game. I played through fallout 3 once, played a couple hours of NV so this'll be the first game I actually play. Although I'm pretty sure I know the story of FO4, I'll wait a week or two before getting it cause it's prob gonna be buggy as ****
I'm agreeing here. I'm not necessarily a fan of Bethesda games, every time I get one I play a few hours and it feels like I've already done and seen everything the game has to offer so I take another couple of hours to do the main story and call it quits by the end (Felt this way for FO3, NV, Skyrim, and Oblivion). FO4 might change my mind, but it's gonna start as a rental, and even then only a good while after its come out.
Bethesda games are notorious for their insane numbers of glitches, progression stoppers, and the like; which, for some reason I see fans defending it as part of the experience and what makes these games so good when Watch Dogs and Assassin's Creed games are crucified for having half as much.
So I'll wait for Bethesda to fix all the egregious bugs in the first month or two like they always do. Then I'll watch them leave an insane number of bugs and never touch them so that modders make mods to fix the problems, like what always seems to happen. Then I'll wait for modders to make mods that fix a bunch of the game's design problems that just aren't that great like what always happens.
The fact that the game isn't even out and you people are loosing your minds with, not how good its going to be, but how good it is as if it is out already and it is an agreed upon opinion that the game is amazing
Bethesda games are always full of bugs some of them gamebreaking. And not all of their games are great. This isn't like fallout new vegas and fallout 3 they changed a lot of things. You can't be sure the game will be as great as it's made out to be.
I never said it was going to be the best game ever. I've played every single fallout, and I don't give a flying **** if it isn't the most A-1 game. Fallouts in general were never the best games ever to come out. Its simply the best game to me, every single one has never disappointed me, and the fact im getting another fallout is good for me. I'll play the **** out of it no matter, I am a blind fanboy of fallout.
I feel like f4 like everything else this year is gonna be a huge disappointment. Thats why i am not preordering and will wait until it ******* COMES OUT.
Honestly the little snippets and videos didn't look that impressive. It looked ok.
all i've really seen was the very first time we say fallout 4 with todd presenting it... FO4 looks like a great improvement to FO# and NV.. but it's not going to be some legendary, it's not going to be a game you go back and play in 7 years
I justhope I can play it for more than 30 minutes, the other fallout games made me nauseous and they were just plain boring, I especially hated when my camera would zoom in and it would show like percentage damage to X body part.
You say that last part as if it happened by accident and wasn't because you pressed the V.A.T.S. button. And even if it were on accident, even on console the game has fully customizable keybinds
To be honest, that kind of goes on you, then, man. It takes less than a minute to change. Kind of pointless to hate a feature that you can play the entire game without using if you wish
Well I'm sure you can play without it and beat the game, but that wasn't fully the issue. I also had no intentions of using the VATS mode in the first place.
So just exit out of it, it's only a minor inconvenience, and if you keybind it so you can't accidentally press it, then no more inconveniences in the first place
As long as you know it's not Bethesda's issue to deal with, I can understand disliking the feature.
M8, I was nauseous playing the game. Heck I don't even think I played it for 30 minutes, I got like 2 quests in and got really tired of playing it. I had this same feeling when I tried to play Starcraft 1 like a year ago, I got nauseous and stopped.
Well generally I prefer to explore the game with default options, unless it's a game that resembles a lot Counter strike, in which case I HAVE to change jump key to mouse wheel up.
mgs5 has been the biggest disappointment of the year for me i honestly dont understand how long time fans are okay with it at all. the gameplay was amazing though
It wasn't a metal gear in my opinion as a metal gear fan. Metal gear 4 and 3 reign supreme to me, metal gear has always been about the story and the depth, there was like 30 seconds of cut scenes in the entire game. I hated that so much.
I sunk about 90 hours into that game, and as much as I love the gameplay, I feel like the game sort of died 60% of the way through. I haven't even finished the game because I just don't care anymore. The Side Ops quickly became a boring grind, and having to travel across the map to go to each one was ******* annoying. There was only 1 or 2 "subsistence" side ops where they drop you in with nothing but a knife and you have to procure everything you use on site. THAT was ******* cool, but there's like only 2 that I've seen so far which is a ******* bummer. The story is interesting enough but it's just not amazing, or at least not anymore. Maybe the upcoming multiplayer will revive it for me.
And believe me, Im a metal gear fanboy, just not a hypeboy that only played it for the hype. It almost felt like an arcade game with no campaign at all.
I'm playing MGS3 right now, because I bought MGS5 without ever playing Metal Gear before and it feels pointless with all these good characters and not knowing back story. I already got myself Peace Walker too, just so that I can play all of Naked Snakes story. Idk about the other Metal Gears and their story, but I'm just playing this **** in chronilogical order.
I did the same thing, however I played MGS > MGS3 > PW > GZ> V
I feel like you should atleast play MGS1. Lots references are made to it in V and GZ. MGS3 is by far my favorite in the series, but I would reccomend starting with 1
I would be doing that right now, but sadly it's not on the PS vita store, just MGS2. I'm playing MGS3D right now though. The collection isn't available at my local vidya game store, but I usually never bother buying games online. Would it be a good idea to watch a MGS1 walk through on youtube?
Considering the fact that it's entirely linear, a walkthrough wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. But the feeling of battling Metal Gear Rex and Grey Fox is irreplaceable IMO. If you can brave an emulator, I'd suggest playing it.
MGS3 is better than MGS5 story wise, MGS4 is better than Mgs5 by stretches. Mgs5 was all gameplay and no story, it felt like a portable ops, it should not have been a metal gear solid #.
they ****** up fatal frame HORRIBLY with censorship and may have killed the series with it. Not buying fire emblem or xenoblade until i know the extent of censorship
I loved The Witcher 3, personally. As of now, I'd still consider it GOTY, even after playing MGSV, which I still thought was pretty great despite some major flaws.
There's diamonds in the rough, you just gotta ignore the hype and look at the substance.
Bethesda were one of the first to utilize the season pass and it works for them. You know they're going to make DLC's/Expansions, so why not just buy the season pass and get them all for a reduced price, when theyre released.
There's only been two DLC's that I didn't think were that great, but I still enjoyed them, Dead Money and Mothership Zeta were easily the worst ones for each game.
Agreed, it was overtly and unnecessarily tedious, it was so bad that it was one of the few times I actually cheated to speed through most of the running around section.
First off, "Game of the Year" awards are nothing more than the video game industry masturbating. They mean literally nothing, and if you are trying to base your argument on that, then you've already lost.
This overhyping is getting ridiculous. The game isn't even out yet.
And from the leaks I've seen so far, it looks fine, but it's not going to be anything revolutionary. There will still be bugs, awkward animations, and the dialogue seems pretty bad. Not to mention the retarded AI.
It will probably be fun, but this is going way overboard.
You are right there will be bugs and the hype is perhaps exaggerated but, the point of this post was game content. Even if there is nothing revolutionary, there will be plenty of exploration and role playing elements and that is what most Bethesda fans look forward to. The vast D.C. ruins, Mojave wastes, and all of Tamriel were full of exploration and I believe that is what makes these games special. That's what makes them worth playing for 100s of hours and what keeps players invested for years. Aside from the few bugs that are to be expected from games with this kind of scope. Bethesda has always treated their buyers well, its refreshing to see them continually push out complete games, with their DLC only adding to the already massive settings and not simply being a way to squeeze dollars out of the customer for content that should have been made available prior to release.
"there will be plenty of exploration and role playing elements and that is what most Bethesda fans look forward to."
That is what I look forward to, that why I'm so worried because a lot of those elements look to have been stripped down like in Skyrim.
Yeah anon. I was worried when they introduced weapon crafting as I thought it would usurp the need for unique weapons and armors, but If I remember correctly they are still in the game and weapon crafting is optional. But that's neither here nor there, I don't care if the game isn't "revolutionary" or "ground breaking," or even if the graphics aren't on godly all I could hope for is a solid and fun game. Because all in all isn't that what most people have forgot? That games should be fun?
actually happy about all this hype. maybe you faggots will finally learn your lesson this time. or you'll just eat this piece of **** game up and move on to the next like always. thanks for being the cancer killing the game industry.
>inedible (unplayable) disgusting mess
>visually unappealing
Sounds about right On a serious note, stop hyping the **** out of this game, you'll only ruin it for yourself. Judge its content when you actually play it.
Fallout 3 had meh density as well. Based on your way of evaluating F4 this should have **** density as well, since F3 did so as well. If that's the wrong way to look at it, why the **** are people hyping up F4.
Dragon Age 2 was **** , even though origins was great. Just because F3 was good doesn't mean F4 will be.
I'm evaluating it based on what I've seen. Densely populated areas, it's a more urban environment. So less mountains to climb around, don't say a game is shut before the game I even a thing.
You've seen jack **** , you've only seen what they wanted you to see. Don't say a game is good until there are actual reviews or videos on it, is what I think. I understand why you'd expect it to be good, but that doesn't mean it will, having a bit of skepticism can help you a lot. Thinking it will be awesome will only make it that much ******** if it happens to not live up to your expectations. F3's saving graces were the mods, the game itself wasn't that good, it was average, and I dont expect F4 to be different.
I'll enjoy the game a lot more if I don't expect anything when going in. And I just hate fanboyism, you literally have no evidence pointing to a good game, and yet you act as if It's game of the year already. So far, the info we have on the game points to a mediocre game. To be fair we have little information on it, but people act as if the trailer and the footage was a positive thing. The amount of negatives you can find in them is enormous, but fanboys act like its all good.
I ESPECIALLY hate the ******* who always have the pcmasterrace attitude and then say, "oh, the graphics don't matter, it's fallout" kindly **** off, graphics always matter, it 's your ******* medium of interaction.
And yes, I'd rather be skeptical than to be stupidly and baselessly optimistic.
Also I think the graphics look fine. Could be a tad better, but then again Bethesda likes to focus more on game play than making sure you can see your pores.
I just have high hopes and so far it's looking good. I mean yeah I am a little worried about a few things, like the story since we have no clue about anything. I mean with Skyrim we knew almost everything when it came out.
And compare graphics to ANY new release game and you'll see what I'm talking about. The only hope I have is that they upped the textures at least somewhat from the footage we had before.
The fact they're using the same engine is a BIIIIIIIIIG red flag for me as well. If you can't even put enough resources into your brand game to up your engine, I can't expect anything substantial from other aspects of the game either.
