Bethesda sure loves to make big deals out of interesting dates , like Skyrim releasing on 11.11.11. 2 years, and I'm still on skyrim... ****
User avatar #404 to #6 - ponchosdm ONLINE (11/16/2013) [-]
well, unless that day we get a video from it, since there have not been a single mention to it.

User avatar #398 to #6 - lech (11/16/2013) [-]
Here's a funny little thing 11/12/13 is the first date since 02/03/04 that has three consecutive numbers that add up to a perfect square

unfortunately that is the date of the announcement. All we are getting at that date will be a trailer (not saying I'm not hyped).

the code of the webpage shows that it is in fact dd/mm/yy

i think they're announcing it at the VGA's like they did with skyrim.
#287 to #10 - Womens Study Major (11/16/2013) [-]
it's stated in the code of the site that it's an european date
#277 to #10 - rdobet (11/16/2013) [-]
Well, the countdown does say ~25 days left. I'm too lazy to do the math, but Dec. 11 seems in that area.

Days go into a month, months go into a year

That's the logic applied, here.
User avatar #249 to #75 - zomitlu (11/16/2013) [-]
30 days to a month
12 months to a year

It really just makes sense to put things chronologically

Also they go in order if which number changes the most.
#564 to #249 - Womens Study Major (11/16/2013) [-]
But months are on average are going to be of a lesser number than days, I think it's better to have an ascending numerical order than one that jumps all over the place like you get most of the time with day/month/year.
User avatar #146 to #75 - killerliquid ONLINE (11/16/2013) [-]
>30-31 Days
>2013 years
pls

I don't follow.
User avatar #533 to #178 - pseudobob **User deleted account** (11/16/2013) [-]
he's saying that there aren't 2013 years in a year, despite what that image seems to say.

it's a ridiculous notion to order the dates in a calendar by the current number rather than the total number (per whatever denomination, like months, years, etc.) otherwise you'd get stuff like 05/06/07 meaning the seventh of may in 2006
User avatar #180 to #178 - killerliquid ONLINE (11/16/2013) [-]
February
2013 years
#185 to #180 - Womens Study Major (11/16/2013) [-]
I didn't feel like giving stupid ******* February its own little denomination in my graph. What's wrong with 2013? That's the current year, and is representative of the point i wanted to make: there are more years than there are days in a single year.
User avatar #186 to #185 - killerliquid ONLINE (11/16/2013) [-]
easy der meng

i'm not taking it all that seriously
#192 to #186 - Womens Study Major (11/16/2013) [-]
Neither am I, I'm just curious. I also don't like how Feb only has 28 days, it's just silly.
User avatar #29 to #10 - TheBagel (11/16/2013) [-]
Americans write the date the way they say it. So 11/15/13 is November 15th, 2013.
#406 to #29 - fourtitwo (11/16/2013) [-]
M8, you can also say the 15th of November...
#122 to #29 - Womens Study Major (11/16/2013) [-]
I thought everyone wrote it how they said it. Like how in Spanish it's "el primero de enero," not "January 1st," so it's written day/month, not month/day.
User avatar #134 to #122 - nippuhl (11/16/2013) [-]
In spanish if you're writing it, it's "Hoy es el 15 de noviembre"
That's how it's supposed to be taught to english people, that is.
#195 to #134 - Womens Study Major (11/16/2013) [-]
I've been trying to figure out for the longest time whether you were agreeing with me or correcting me...confused me either way. Maybe I wasn't clear? I was just trying to point out that both English and Spanish write numerical dates in the same format as they speak/write them.

"el primero de enero" = day/month = 1/1/YYYY (not a good example, obviously)
"el 15 de noviembre" = day/month = 15/11/YYYY
November 15th = month/day = 11/15/YYYY
User avatar #196 to #195 - nippuhl (11/16/2013) [-]
I was just pointing out that you typically write "hoy es el"
You weren't wrong justnot 100% right.
