Is it just me or do landmines actually pose a threat now? Back in Fallout 3 and New Vegas you could easily run out of the blast radius of a mine if you accidentally triggered it. Now, god help you if you run into one and don't disarm it. Your legs will come off.
I keep killing myself with explosives because some ******* at bethesda thought that melee, power attack and grenade throw should all be on the same ******* key.
I really like the traps in 4, they tend to be more deadly and much harder to spot, except for those stupid lasers...I wonder if anyone has even ran into one without seeing it
Early on in the game, after I just fast traveled to sanctuary, I follow Dogmeat to some random house and he runs to the corner, comes back with what appears to be a rifle and then just drops like 5 guns all at once.
I'm Like 20 Hrs in, have my own fortress with electricity and over 20 turrets, but i still haven't found a companion besides the dog and robot, but then again I haven't made it to Diamond city yet either.
just outta curiosity, did you build walls all around? And if you did, did you do it along the river and up to the bridge? Or did you make it a smaller fort closer to the workshop, because I want to do the river and bridge thing, but sanctuary is a relatively large area to completely close off with walls
I made a large fortress on the corner area where if ur looking at the town near the bridge, over where one collapsed house is, and near the cooking station base location. I used metal walls to wall off zones so they have to come straight down the street at like 12 turrets with no cover, and if they dash inside theres like 4 shotgun turrets with more machine gun turrets.
I super compressed the crops inside and everyone is just farming, so they are safe. Produces like 40 food, and like 40 water, with over 100 defense. And I've only completed the first floor
The Red Rocket is a pretty good place to fortify if you want to create a personal safe house and put a bunch of companions there.
If you want to defend the sanctuary and still use all the space I'd recommend a line of towers with turrets along the river if you can't be bothered to cover it all with walls.
You can get a different robot, even. Her name is Curie, and she's a medical professional, and her companion perk is something along the lines of when you drop below 10% hp, regain 100 hp.
Well Diamond City has two in it would recommend checking them out, just clocked in at 39 hours so far and now trying to grab everyone and the bobbleheads.
Same barely though any of the main questline keep finding new places and other jobs to do. Lately haven't found any armour better then mine kinda annoyed that I think I capped out already also the same with weapons.
you can get a female reporter called piper in diamond city, and a gumshoe style synth detective after a quest.
I have piper as a companion atm though more because I wanted her red trenchcoat
go to diamond city you can get someone called Piper, good companion, she uses a 10mil but shoots fast as **** with it, also go to the cambridge police department, do all the **** for Paladin Danse, then keep doing the story mission until you meet "Kellog" i wont say what happens with him but right after you meet him Paladin Danse will offer to be your companion, he is the BEST ive seen so far, he useses a lazer rifle that ***** people up, also Nick Valentine, keep doing the story, you will meet him right after Piper in diamond city, do some stuff for him and he will offer as well. Those are the only three that ive found other than Dogmeat, but ive heard that there are many more.
Theres also a guy with the railroad you can get and you can get a super mutant companion in one of the towers in boston, not sure what the exact name of the place is though
right i think the dude from the Railroad is named Deacon, and ive met Strong doing a rescue mission but i havent seen him since, im sure ill come across him eventually, my plan is to clear EVERYTHING in the commonwealth. I did the same thing in skyrim and i tell you what, there is a lot of cool **** that has nothing to do with the main story or any of the guilds.
Don't know about you, but I recorded this without much knowledge of the sneaking system in this game. Didn't know performing an action would take me out of Stealth. Oops.
It's 'kay. I was responding more to the ********** taking your lack of knowledge as a strike against the game. You messed up, which is fine, it's how you learn. And, hey, it was a pretty entertaining death, which is half the fun of playing a sandbox.
>early game
>near diamond city exploring the ruins in raider territory
>traps literally everywhere
>sneak around some tripwires and mines
>looting a chest
"dogmeat has found an enemy"
>starts growling and walks towards enemy and over a tripwire
>grenades drop
>iskill
My dog is best dog
>Need to do a quest and find some Brotherhood of steel radio emitting thingy
>Appears to be in a large open facility full of super mutants
>Fail to sneak get attacked, first thing moving in my way is an XXL extra baddie overlord ******************* mutant
>Dog full hero mode, engages and "stuns"(at least the animation is more or less that) mutant
>All other mutants go ******* , launch nukes and rockets at dog from above calling him "filfthy hoomans"(?)
>Everything explodes, mutant mutates(which means he gets all his hp back) but immediately gets oneshot again by all the cars exploding and the suicide bombers getting teamkilled by other mutants
>Xp meter goes crazy whilst explosions keep going all over the place
>Shoot the remaining supermutants with my sniper rifle
>Dog leaves fully alive
