At the risk of getting thumbed down so hard that my feeble third world internet connection withers completely, I have to agree with you, man. I can't side with this David fellow. He was right in being offended by her obvious superiority complex, and perhaps somewhat justified in redirecting his argument toward her class attendance (although this is known as ad-hominem, and is frowned upon in formal debate), it was bad form to verbally attack her on the grounds of her knowledge of the Harry Potter series.

Two things:
1) Gleek only applies to the show Glee
2) By saying she's a HP fan, but showing so much ignorance about the series, she's insulting the very fanbase she claims to be part of. She clearly doesn't know anything about it., first. Simply associating with such a person is enough to feel insulted - it degrades the fanbase's reputation.
