It's pretty simple. All you need is a group of friends, a set of dice like this, the dm's handbook and the player's handbook.

then your friends are missing out on a good time. if you ever have those nights where yu guys are just sitting around with nothing to do suggest this as a way to fill in.

Pick up a copy of Neverwinter Nights. Its old, and pretty buggy, but it's a decent fill-in. And if nothing else it'll do a lot to help you learn the rules.

8 years. Not just DnD, either. Sadly, my group has all moved away, so i have a buch of dice, books, and sheets and nothing to use them for.

I like my patchwork set. Each of those dice has a story behind how I got it, and the coin is an old French coronation medal.
