This is for you first time DM's looking to create a world for your players to explore! This covers the basics for how the surface of a world should look.
Disclaimer: I did not make this infographic, so do not thank me for making it.
It's funny because my world has a city behind a giant mountain range with only 2 entrances through said mountains. This city was pretty much raptured after what are essentially the Gods of Chaos from Warhammer came and the city's Warriors went to battle them. Now it's eerily abandoned with little to no trace.
I know its satire and that's just a map of Europe but what is the source of that map, like, is it from somewhere? Why did someone create a heavily-edited map of Europe rotated 90 degrees?
/tg/ on 4chan complain all the time about how stupid other peoples maps are so i'm guessing the map is satire about the "expert cartographers" on /tg/ ******** on every homebrew map.
Now imagine the People of 6 and 4 Banding together causing a technological boom in 6 and increasing their economic output, leading to higher birth-rates.
Eventually the Coalition of 6 and 4 claim the entire Badlands they live in, and try cultivating the arid desert they own, with help of the Merchants.
And when 5 learns of it, they join the Coalition to get back into the trading network , drastically increasing the population of the Coalition.
Due to 6's and 5`s bad positioning and 4's rather unstable society, the Coalition decides to go to war against 1 and later 3 , to claim their right to a stable food source.
With their success, 2 is too frightened to stand up to them and surrenders to the Coalition before any fighting ensues.
It vaguely fits for the Arabian tribes that spread out across the middle east/ north africa/ middle asia during the days of the Caliphs. Took out the Sassanids and sent Byzantium back to anatiolia
Not gunna lie I know the barest minimum about the time period so I could and probably am glossing over a ton of relevant **** .
I believe that a world is a world when you give it a name - it doesn't even have to exist on paper.
On that note, though it does exist on paper, here's my world.
That map essentially describes Big Island, Hawaii, half of it is a savanna, the other half is the most rainy place in the US, they are separated by two of the world's largest volcanoes. In fact, the entire island is just five large volcanoes. Really, it's an amazing place.
I heard playing dungeons and dragons is a fk ton of fun but I honestly have no idea where to play it at , I heard you can play online but fk me if I know where to do it , all i've found was places to buy tabletop games.
do you have free time and a decent imagination if so i occasionally try and do dnd games with some friends on roll20.net but we dont play as often as we like due to not enough players we have 3-4 consistent players but realistically need like 6
this might sound weird, but my gf, a few friends of ours, and I are trying to start up our first game, if you want in on it just PM me, we're all beginners, and pretty nice people if I do say so myself, so you're free to join in.
Playing online sucks a lot of the fun out of it. The best way to get started is see if you can pick up a cheap copy of the Player's Handbook and run the example adventure in there with a few friends. If enough of you enjoy it, get the other players to chip in for a Dungeon Master's Guide and Monster Manual, and hey presto, you've got your very own D&D group. Most people find it a lot easier playing with friends than strangers as well, as it's often easier to get into character if you're playing with people you're comfortable making a jerk of yourself in front of - everyone does at some point, so it's good to be able to laugh at yourselves
My friends aren't the kind of people who'd like to play tabletop games , it was hard enough to convince them to buy CS GO when it was 5 $ and they love it so much now. Still wanna try thou , strangers is better than nothing , rite ?
