in pathfinder it's literally impossible to kill them without direct divine intervention. not even the wish thing works.

how so?

never fought one but my party's lvl 13 paladin defeated an opponent of 1000hp by himself
what makes this guy impossible?

quote:
Regeneration (Ex) No form of attack can suppress the tarrasque's regeneration—it regenerates even if disintegrated or slain by a death effect. If the tarrasque fails a save against an effect that would kill it instantly, it rises from death 3 rounds later with 1 hit point if no further damage is inflicted upon its remains. It can be banished or otherwise transported as a means to save a region, but the method to truly kill it has yet to be discovered.

it's the DM's ultimate " **** you" to the players.

so how does divine intervention kill it
User avatar #18 to #17 - rockmanfan (12/11/2015) [-]
literally a god comes down and says " **** this **** ". it's more or less a plothook, let the players do a task for a god in exchange for killing the tarrasque. it's all just made-up stuff at this point, open-ended for the DM to play around with and make their own adventure to kill the tarrasque.

outside of DM's ******* , there are rules for deities, so im guessing a demigod or a lesser deity still couldn't kill it?
asking cause aforementioned paladin kinda became a god

there's no rules for deities in pathfinder, outside what domains they have and a bit of lore surrounding them. they arent even stated, you cant kill one because they have no documented HP, spell, resistances or anything. DM ******* is the only thing that really lets the gods get involved, outside of specific campaign paths.

We actually ended up defeating one, what we basically did was thus, Step one, we distracted it with the summoners summons and other players(he summoned like 55 lemurs, not the monkey things, but like undead garbage?) and then with me and our wizard staying back on my gryphon. after it was distracted a bit, and it roared, the wizard got the summoners eidlon to take his magic book of EXPLOSIONS(He spent a couple weeks putting multiple explosive runes in it, which when read, did somewhere about 1k damage at that point) and read it inside the things stomach(used another wizard to magic it inside) and while it was unconscious, the elder wizard teleported it to teh elemental plane of air, So ya, we also gained 4 levels for the encounter( we didn't straight up kill it, so no full EXP, went from level 7-11). So we took care of it...for now, when he gets back, we have to go deal with the loose ends, and deal with that bastard more permanently. Some of you may reconize the wizard book of nukeing, that's cause Im the same guy, Still being an Alchemist, now going to out tank the designated tank( by atleast a good 10 AC, 39 AC in total with all my buffs, after I get teh gear I want, AC of 29 without buffs)

One Gargantuan bag of holding. shove him in there and forget about it.

Bag of Holding+Portable hole. Just have someone sacrifice themselves INSIDE it's stomach, either it'll literally tear it in half, or suck it into a different dimension.
User avatar #8 to #4 - ciaphascain [OP](11/21/2015) [-]
It has 4 stomachs. One of them digests magic, even artifacts.
User avatar #9 to #8 - sptnfouroneseven (11/21/2015) [-]
Or you could just do that outside then. It's been known to deal with them. And what happens if someone's put in the main stomach, then uses it immediately as he has enough HP to survive the acid/Eat Whole. Such as an Orc
