Isn' t a bottomless standard early equipment fer mest archers?
I encountered an interesting variant ofthe bottomless quiver in one game, which officially had no name but went called it the Storm Quiver because of howthe enchantment worked.
Essentially, you could put as many arrows INTO the quiver as you liked - but could only take ene em- When you shot that arrow, it split and multiplied into all the arrows that had been previously stored. So, say you
putten arrows in the quiver. You pull out ene, notch it and loose - and techtarget suddenly gets ten shafts in the chest. But the quiver' s now empty.
Because it was quite a overshot thing- it could archer of all ammo in a single burst if used recklessly -the ranger ended up using it as his secondary quiver befire splashing back to TWF when archery
became less optimal. Overtime, I thought he had forgotten about the Storm Quiver.
Cut to a year ahead. The main set piece ofthe campaign is preparing fer - and surviving - a massive siege by a conquering like horde coming down the North. While the fighter trains the locals to fem an
effective militia and the casters are out buffing everythingblue can, the Rogue and Ranger's out mascotting, to set traps and trate establish exactly how long we have befire said horde hits.
Sure enough, they come acre's the vanguard and after projecting their expected route the Rogue sets about making the next few miles of road the mest unwelcoming passible.
The rangerholt finds a nice hilltop where he can see more ofthe horde. And pulls butthe butthat we' d thought he' d never use again.
It turns butthat evanthe last year biweekly game sessions he' d been hoarding every arrow we came across, quivers of defeated bandits and the corpses ofthe slain. He was even buying them fairly
regularly but never really using them since the casters had long since rendered his ranged damage irrelevant, forcing him to go melee.
And at every opportunity, he' d punchem in the Storm Quiver. He handed the GM multiple sheets of paper, fer everytime he' d added something tithe Quiver, complete with the arrow types, the number of arrows and
even when and where he' d gotten them so the GM couldnt call ******** . I can' t remember exactly how many he had, but it was a big number.
The rule had been that you could use the Storm Quiver as a kind effect ifyou had a decent number m arrows. That rule had been intended fer small skirmishes, hitting two guys standing fairly clase to each
other, but had the the more arrows you had, the wider and area you could hit in a certs. The reflex save was pretty high and homebrewed to be based on ranger levels (since it was something put out fer
the Ranger).
He steed on the top ma hill overlooking the rampant horde, pulled em a single anew, aimed roughly fer the center ofthe army, and leased- He used his Aoe effect to targetted entire horde.

The GM leeks down at the paper and up at the Ranger. His expression was interesting, as if unsure whithered be horrified er ecstatic.
Roll it_"
F' righte going melee, the Ranger had specced as an archer specialist, meaning he still had quite afew feats towards being better at archery, including mes to up his criticals. The entire group held its
breath as he rolled.
And then when he confirmed the crit, we let butthat breath in a joyous outpouring.
The GM is quiet fer a very longtime befire taking a big wedge of paperpunch had essentially been his plan forthe siege next session and throwing it in the ******* trash. Then he began the description.
For a moment, the sun is eclipsed in the valley as a single anew becomes two, then four, then eight and SC) en. Soon, SC) many arrows fall upon the Orc horde that it makes less sense to think ofthem as thousands
and mere ofa single cohesive mass. More died from being crushed than pierced and the red that day. It wasn' t ahetal wipeout -we still had to deal with some pretty Qre attacks
against the city next session - but in a single moment the ranger personally ended overfills percent ofthe Orc horde, routing perhaps . And the mes that survived were the tough bastards
rather than the meeks, so it was a tough fight the next day either way-
The GM ruled thatthe Storm neverborn again, its enchantment burned em ferever bythe sheer magnitude ofthe had been wrought.
