>My father who played Dungeons and Dragons in high-school up through the army decided to tell me a story about a campaign he created.
>His friends arrive and he hands them lvl 20 epic character sheets he rolled up to the classes that he new that the players would enjoy.
>He begins and starts them out already on a Epic quest.
>There is a terror growing in an ancient mountain/castle.
>The epic party treks into this massive lair and massive fights ensue.
>100s of goblins being obliterated at a time by the paladin, per swing.
>Wizard blasting the hole army, the carnage and mayhem was beautiful to say the least.
>After a whole session of hacking slashing and death the party finally reaches the final boss, the elder red dragon.
>They see that the Red Dragon is a matriarch and has children and therefore all the more fierce.
>They fight hard and finally best the Red dragon, there is enough loot for each player to start whole kingdoms.
>Now what to do with these small newborn dragons? (mind there is one for each of the 6-person party)
>The DM tells them that they tame these small baby dragons, and then takes up the sheets.
>Next session tells them to roll lvl 1s, They are each the great grandchildren of the legend they were playing.
>The Dragons, being an eternal creature is bound to that family as a protector of their kingdom.
>The party goes on and the paladin stumbles upon something when reading on the exploits of his grandfather.
>At slaying the dragon and not killing the babies it cursed the families, "Each family would fall, and lose everything."
>The pally seeing as to how the kingdom he was in being a seat of a religion, can't let this stand, and searches for the party.
>The party is assembled and now everyone is lvl 5
>They set off in search of knowledge of how to reverse the curse.
> They find out that the reason that the curse is because the mountain is at unrest because of the Dragon babies.
>They find that the Old Dragon Matriarch is now a Draco-lich as a result.
>This particular lich's phylactery is in each of the dragon children and as a result the part needs some of each of their blood. (The party is lvl 10 and up at this time.
>This may have been easy but although the Dragons served them it didn't mean willingly.
>So they "defeated" the adolescent Dragons and took some blood from each and set off for the castle.
>The party anticipated more goblins and orcs etc
>In guessing this they were not wrong.........but neither right.
>To their surprise the castle seems abandoned.
>As the party turns to the DM(my father) like "WTF?" ; Ghosts flood from the walls and ceiling and even the floor.
>The whole mountain was put at unrest by the curse and in so the monsters that their ancestors bested stand an eternal vigil seeking vengeance on those that cast them into this eternal stake of unrest.
>The party fights on and fights and after a very long time almost 2 months worth of sessions they finally reach the Draco-lich.
>They fight hard and all but the paladin is slain, who then plunges his blade atop the dead beasts head.
>He bathed the lich in the blood of its children and a chorus of screeches could be heard as the curse is lifted from their families and the mountain.
>The souls of the dead rest peacefully and the mountain begins to crumble around the paladin.
>He makes it out alive, just barley and take control of the other party members kingdoms.
>He is now an emperor.
>They all re-roll as his children. XD
_______So this was my father when he played, he told me this story and it made me feel so much pride I came from that dude.
