THE SOVEREIGN HOST

The Sovereign Host is the only traditional 'Good' pantheon within the Ebberon game world. Unlike most other deities in other Dungeons & Dragons settings, the Sovereign Host are removed from the world, rarely interacting with the mortals within. While they still provide spells for their clergy, many question whether or not they actually exist, as their power could come from another source. The Sovereign Host's pantheon originally contained thirteen different gods, but four of them were cast out during the Schism. These four gods joined with two others--The Shadow & The Traveler to form the Dark Six. The remaining nine members of the Sovereign Host are Arawi, Aureon, Balinor, Boldrei, Dol Arrah, Dol Dorn, Kol Korran, Olladra & Onatar.

Balinor

Balinor is the neutral god of the hunt. He embodies nature, and is a very traditional nature deity. Rangers, druids and barbarians revere him, as they tend to be within the nature Balinor embodies most often. He is the brother of Arawai and the Devourer. When he is depicted, he is usually portrayed as a burly human with a battleaxe.

Boldrei

Boldrei is the lawful good goddess of the home. She presides over personal homes, communities and governments. Marriges in Ebberon are done in her name (among the Host's faithful). She is seen as a protector of society, constantly fighting back against the savage wilds so that common folk may live peaceful lives. She is the wife of Aureon, but has no other relations among the gods.

Dol Arrah

Dol Arrah is the lawful good goddess of the sun and sacrifice. She is seen as light, not just in the physical sense but the 'light' that is the good within mortal's souls. She is seen as one of the more important members of the Sovereign Host (even though officially, all of the host are considered equal). She is the patron deitiy of paladins and diplomats, and teaches that light should be spread to all dark places. She is the sister of Dol Dorn and the Mockery.

Dol Dorn

Dol Dorn is the chaotic good god of battle and strength. He is unique among the host in that he has a chaotic nature, which results from his embodiment of conflict between good and evil. He is the patron deity of those who fight to make a living, such as gladiators. He is responcible for purging what would become the Dark Six from the Host. When the Sovereign Host goes to battle, Dol Dorn is at its head.

Aureon

Aureon is the lawful neutral god of law & lore. He is the patron deity of wizards and the god of magic. His wisdom is what is commonly thought to guide the Sovereign Host (though he is not considered their leader). Aureon is the brother of Onatar and husband of Boldrei. He in a way is also the father of the Shadow, for the Shadow was created when Aureon bound all of the evil in his soul and magically banished it. It is said the world will end when the Shadow and Aureon rejoin.

Arawai

Arawai is the neutral good goddess of life & love. Her portfolio includes fetility, crops and birth, making her widely revered among farmers, rangers and druids. Because she is also the goddess of weather, she recieves a lot of worship from sailors, as well as passing lip service from the faithful when they desire good weather. She is the sister of Balinor and the Devourer, the latter of which raped her, causing her to give birth to the Fury.

Kol Korran

Kol Korran is the neutral god of wealth. He is the youngest member of the Sovereign Host, being the son of Olladra and Onatar. He is the patron deity of traders and merchants, but is also worshiped by rogues and thieves who also respect wealth--even if the way they obtain it is less than lawful. While Kol Korran is loyal to the host, he often plots ways to extort riches from his fellows while still remaining in the Host.

Olladra

Olladra is the neutral good goddess of good fortune. She is the wife of Onatar and mother of Kol Korran and the Keeper. She is often worshipped by bards, rogues, gamblers, or anybody whose life has a great deal of chance in it. Apart from being the mother of two deities, Olladra seems to keep mostly to herself (more so than most of the Host, anyway).

Onatar

Onatar is the neutral good god of the forge and of fire. He is the husband of Olladra, and father of both Kol Korran and the Keeper. His worshipers include craftsmen, artificers, dwarves and some warforged and wizards with an affinity for fire. Legend states that he is the one who first gave fire to the mortal races, and later the one who taught them to use tools and weapons.

Well, I'm glad someone else did Eberron Deities. Good on you for taking the time to do it.

Ebberon is by far my favorite setting, I just couldn't resist after seeing some comments about it on one of your contents.

Are there any Chaotic Good god of magic? I am mixing all settings here, Boccob is True Neutral, Wee Jas and Aureon are Lawful Neutral, Mystra is Neutral Good.

I know those gods generally allow any alingment of woshipers(except Clerics, that must follow the "one off" rule), but I usually preffer if the god I am woshiping have similar enough views to the character.

Corellon Larethian is the only deity I know who both directly presides over magic and is Chaotic Good.

Can you do a comp of noteworthy Forgotten Realms gods in their 5th Edition incarnations? I'm having trouble finding info about what the gods are up to post-Sundering aside from Bhaal being alive.

It might take a bit of time, but I can do one of those, sure. (I've got a bit of catching up to do on 5th ed. myself). If no one else has done one by the time I finish the three ebberon deity ones, I'll work on that next.

You're a good man, my friend. Perhaps even...Lawful Good.

I'll continue looking, but it seems like Wizards hasn't released an official statement on what bringing back to life what appears to be all, or at least nearly all dead gods will have on the pantheons. I'm very confused as to what both Pelor and Lathander are doing alive at the same time.. or Cyric and Myrkul/Bane/Bhaal.

Cyric's been bounced up and down in power a couple times, so that's nothing new. I'm actually running a game set more or less post-Sundering. Currently, I'm just mostly playing it as though the pantheon is more or less the same as 3rd Edition, but with the extra "these gods used to be dead" clause.
