Truth be told I only ever ran 3 campaigns in my lifetime.

Anyone can make good dnd comps, just source info from the SRD website or from the manuals.

But then you'd also be implying that it requires effort to make good comps about anything really.

Heck you don't even need to source info from SRD and Manuals, a lot of people who read content in the dnd board have never even played a campaign.

it's hard to take joke comments as jokes in the dnd board when a lot of people are actually very serious about it, so you kind of have to be serious about it unless it's so obvious the person is joking.

This is a good thing. The broader the appeal, the more newer players we can hopefully attract. You should do more of these types of content if they come easily.

It seems wrong to me that a nat 20 should result in something negative that the player didn't intend.
Rolling a 20 should result in the best possible outcome from that given situation, but that's just my opinion.....
