games that win you poor, cheaply made enchanted items.
for example

Gauntlet of silence.
Flies around punching people in the throat whenever they speak.

Rory's Rare Colour Mist
A nice rainbow in your hand

Finally my favorite, the ring of the nice one
every time you score a crit you here a voice say nice one

Now that is not the best part
One item within is a scarab necklace in a clay box, a infamous party member wins a bit too easily or wins when he should of lost.
The scarab looks like finely polished jade and when one holds or wears the bettle for one whole minute the bug comes to life.
one must make a reflex save of 15 or be killed by the scarab burrowing into the skin, and eating the heart

Make one of those "Unbelievable Creature" attractions with a super boss fight inside.

Rare, OP and secret bosses are my fetish. You never should have given me the idea.

Not sure if too late or not but the nuetronium golem from 4.0e will **** up everything in existence so there`s always that.

There is a parade that the players are the guests of honor for. The festival and subsequent parade are actually a ritual that ends with the sacrifice of the PCs.

Every time there is some festival/parade in my games, there is always something evil about to go down that ruins the whole event. How about an old guy running around warning about an impending doom, but other citizens think he's just crazy.

Three words; Paper Cut Elemental.
A mass of swirling paper which secretes a vile combination of lemon juice, alcohol, and salt. Death by a thousand [screaming] cuts.

half orc streakers, make them roll fort or puke. have there be 1 of those test your strength things, and have the prize be a chest of mystery... inside is a goblin that jumps out and kicks the person that opens it in the dick and runs away

Make it rain magic dildos. They are magic because they auto **** any ass that they come close to.

The festival is organized by two joint groups. One, the face group, is made of young, eager and usually harmless jesters, harlequins and merry men.

The other group behind the scenes is a cabal of torture students, alchemical experimenters and ancient string pulling politicians that use the facade of festivals and carnivals to test their strange and often dangerous experiments.

Bob for apples? Water might melt your face off, be careful there.
Try the Blind Man's Wine? Try not to scream if it transforms you into a monster.
Hall of Mirrors? Be prepared in case you get lost forever. Not for any magical reason, the maze is just... really well designed.

have them run into the most ruthless of fighters. the kung fu master FunkMasterDragonFlex. He was one of my old characters i made when i was VERY bored. Just think of a kung fu monk with an afro that disco dances and break dances and stuff which add to their evasion or attack (respectively).

Have one of the PC's end up in one of those dunk tanks where people hit the target to drop them in water, but instead of water have them land into a gelatinous cube.

Truly a evil idea, but the festival has been over for a while now. I'll for sure use something like that in the future.

Yeah just noticed that this has been up on the dnd channel for a while. Whoops

The idea will be useful though, of that you can be sure.

Fun house Tomb of Horrors. Give everything a fun house spin.
Room of mirrors with doppelgangers. The fun cheerful paintings come to life occasionally for mischief. Break away tiles to pits of spikes. A balance check every 15 feet, no exceptions. Maybe some reverse gravity here and there, in the same room, subject to change at whim perhaps. Force them into combat on that spinning tunnel, constant balance check on moving uneven ground with low friction.
Clowns. Small midget ankle biter monsters preferably, nothing that's a real threat on it's own, just annoying and infesting the place, around every corner.
Have some kind of music playing, actually a permanent spell to induce fear or madness.
They can't teleport out, or sunder the walls, they MUST find the end or submit to their fate. Pocket dimension with dimensional anchor sounds like a good reason.
Their doom will be cheerful and colorful.
You can make it a powerful illusion and have them wake up naked in an empty lot instead of killed. If you don't want to be mercilessly evil.

Just start rolling dice for no reason.

Do this for about an hour or so, they'll get used to it.

Then, something terrifically horrible happens to at least 3 of the 5 players (hidden gorgons are always fun). Let them sort it out.

If you Want I can give you My Psycho Character to Start murdering them in the Night of the Festival to Sacrifice them to the God of Razors

A beholder is the one making the light show, 1 of the players interupt something, enraging him

Dragon masquerading as a beggar. It doesn't have to be lethal, they never see it coming, and it's always a hoot.

Have some sort of royalty there, king prince whatever. Then have cultists come to assassinate him/her. The PCs will try to defend the royalty, after a few rounds if they are still alive, make the king turn into a demon and start destroying stuff. The cultists were actually priests trying to stop the demon from coming.

Gnome thieves with games of shells going on along the streets. No matter what the outcome, they will always lose because the ball is an illusion. To make them really want to play though, there are large bags filled with fake coins that are in plain sight but protected by the Gnome's bodyguards.
User avatar #4 - MrFace (03/24/2015) [-]
A teleportation contraption with a left and right pedestal. A magic amulet worn by a young girl sends her through a strange portal. Convince them that to find her, instead of the left pedestal she was on, they have to use the right pedestal. When they go through, they fight the most powerful being you can think up. If any of them get the reference, they get to survive.
