morelazors (01/04/2016) [-] Why are elves always depicted as wise beautiful tree loving people? That was Tolkein's thing. I want to see elves that live underground, or tribal, cannibalistic monster elves, or techie elves that live in some futuristic civilization.

fogglebeast (01/05/2016) [-] In Magic: The Gathering, there are Lorwyn Elves who think they're the epitome of beauty, and they actively hunt lesser races (they call them eyeblights). If an elf is deemed as not beautiful, they are exiled or killed. They're my favourite version of elves, and it's quite a change from Tolkein's elves.

That same setting also has Wild Elves. Who are pretty much what they sound like
And high tech elves? Warhammer 40k has the Eldar, who are pretty much space elves.
