I don't get why people complain, silence and he's ****** . And good Earth Spirits are hard to come by (at least in unranked), I'm always just impressed if someone plays him properly, he's not as easy as some other heroes.
212 Earth Spirit games, 71% winrate
When he could pull team-mates without Aghs he was straight up over-powered, now that he can't he's much more reasonable, but the hero is still really strong. He can still silence the whole enemy team for 5 seconds while dealing 50/75/100 damage per second for a maximum of 36 seconds. He can deal a lot of damage and has high mobility in the early game and has godly utility late-game with Aghs. People complain because he's still strong as hell in the right hands, but he is harmless if he hasn't got enough remnants, he can't farm for **** and if you miss your skills you're either dead or useless in a fight.
Even though he's my favourite hero I still believe he needs another little nerf.
He isn't so bad to play against now, but he could just do so much before. Before you even consider the utility his 3 non-ult spells stun, slow and silence which is a lot of crowd control for one hero. Additionally his q can reposition both his allies and enemies, his w can reposition himself, and previously (now removed unless you have aghs) he could pull a teammate back toward you out of danger. All of this is with no items, so he can make whatever items suit the game. And that is only with levels,e can basically make whatever items suit the situation. As for silencing him he can build defensive items, or just use his q and e from far away before coming close, likely making your use of your silence on him a waste unless you were winning the engagement anyway. And that is what any player can do with him, players that are good with him can choose between over 30 different combos for each situation depending on which items you have. Overall all though, i think the strongest thing about him previously is that he could provide both the defensive tp aspect of a dazzle or abaddon with his pull to counter ganks while also being able to gank aggressively himself during the laning phase. Anyway, enjoy the novel pal. Apology for poor sentence structure. english is my first language, i just suck at it.
True, he's very versatile, only way to counter would probably be to gitgud and have proper warding and dodge his stones.
A lot of how you describe him could also be said for Phoenix btw, just his boons are different and Phoenix has longer cds I guess.
I hate i am one of the few that hated this "Balance of power" update when it came out and i first took it apart as the OP nonsense it was, all the random scepters n changes "Hey whats better than a drow? A Drow with Multishot!"
And of course on the Dota community forums i get called a low tier nub for calling out the OP ******** across the board, even saying i use Arc Warden as a supp because it can be anything.
But then when a dota youtuber says the same **** i did, they get praised n nodding in agreement.
im just mad they made ion shell purgable. I miss broken dark seer from 4 years ago when i started playing dota and he could 1v5 a team with a 5 man cliff into a wall.
I tried arc warden as a support and it's the hardest **** i've ever done. Arc Warden, in my eyes, should build the same way a carry Nature's Prophet does. High damage, attack speed items and attacking only people that are alone.
Its hard but the benefits are great in teamfights, I can heal both before a fight and after, I can get a few of their ulti's out of the way, Double up on basic support items. I've saved a lot of teammates with just some Guardian greaves alone not to mention all the illusions and minions i send into the fights.
It's Aether Lens, Pudge's new aghs, and Dragon Lance that I have an issue with on the latest update. Arc is also a little broken with rapiers, but nerfing his illusion to not have bonus damage or something would probably make him pretty weak.
But Arc aside, it's really Aether Lens I hope gets removed or just changed entirely. Not only is it way too cheap for what it does, but none of the spells are really balanced around it. A 1500 range Hook / Burrow Strike (with Aghs) is way too much and making Fissure longer on Shaker is dumb. Plus Ice Path + Pyre on Jak get extended too. It's just way too good for its price, and that 8% extra damage is retarded for characters with a lot of spell damage like Zeus.
Pudge is the worst this update, though. With Lens and the new Aghs, the hooks do around 510 damage every 4 seconds. Pure damage. That's 2000+ damage in 16 seconds if you land every hook. Only auto attackers with crits, which requires a lot more gold, or Enigma can deal out that much damage so fast. Granted, you have to land the hook, but 1500 range makes that extremely easy. Plus his Dismember having the 50% Strength = extra damage makes him even way more overpowered than he already was... and that also gets amped by the Lens.
Dragon Lance is also annoying, but not overly so. The issue is more that it's not balanced for any of the characters, and you have to have certain characters to really close the gap already. Sniper with insane range is also annoying to deal with.
The whole update was just too dumb for me, but I still play the game and hope they fix / remove stuff. I definitely, at the very least, see a change to Shadow Fiend's aghs incoming. Probably something like "no longer loses souls on death" to negate his weakness, but that might be too strong. It's worthless right now, though.
Tbh fam you sound like a nub.
None of the new stuff in the patch is OP, least of all Drow (kek)
Arc Warden support is a stupid way to play one of, if not the most farm-intensive cores in the game, so versatile, but a **** support.
The Dota 2 community is ******* retarded and think that Legion Commander should ever be allowed to jungle so I wouldn't listen to what Dota youtubers say.
He's a pretty **** core as well. His power is limited beyond his activatables and his stats are pure garbage. Having the double of everything sounds good on paper, but it isn't that good in practice when compared to Ember Spirit and Anti-Mage.
Ratting and sidecarrying are what he excels at, from my experience playing him.
Dota 2 has probably the worst community of any game ever. But the patch has done a few things wrong, E.G. buffing Pudge. You know the most played hero with no sign of decline. Frosty Toad has also been keeping on track of making Core's more and more important and playing support sucking more and more Not to say you can't carry as a support but the fact that the Mid/End game heroes are getting stronger early, getting better base stats etc is causing playing a support to feel second class. Also i will ignore the artificial skill cap that he likes to keep and the fact that one of the worst nerfs to Earth Spirit for me was the way he interacted with his Remnants. He made a hero weaker by making him less fluid, feeling like he was designed by a retard.
You say "no sign of decline", but in the last 3 months Windranger has been played more than pudge. Icefrog supposedly balances based on competitive dota, and this patch has certainly made pudge viable in competitive which is entertaining. Cores are getting stronger but I think playing support this patch is better than it's been in a while, the new paths through the jungle mean that wards are even more valuable. It's easier to get money as a support, and the focus on cores makes good smoke ganks rewarding.
A support can get midas, although Silencer midas is a little dumb (especially for support silencer) at least he makes use of the attack speed and the XP is good. Support isn't a hero who buys wards it's a position, position 5, lowest farm priority. Arc warden gets a lot of value out of gold and it's a complete waste of the hero to play a support when a farmed arc warden can take rax without ever leaving his fountain.
Slahsers way Silencer best silencer.
