well technically its even true for him. He doesn't die. He just stave's off death by regenerating. Eventually somewhere somehow death will come for him. But i think it will be like an old friend, someone he has been walking with for a long time, finally taking him home.

I am not someone who thumbed you down, so you know ahead of time, but it is shown time and time again in the show that the Doctor fears death above all else. He runs from it constantly. Death isn't his oldest friend, it's his worst enemy.
