Do you think that Rory's 3rd death in "The Angels take Manhattan" was yet another "Rory's death scene" from which he will somehow manage to come back stronger?

If this is true, then what a twist!

But, a few flaws.. SPOILERS HERE

1/ I can't remember so I need someone to confirm, when Rory first meets or hears about the doctor, how does he act?
Because the doctor and the master grew up together.

2/ Why does the master want to take over everything and why does the doctor want to stop him?

3a/ How is it that david tennant meets and stops the master when the master looks older? Why go back in time to do his evil?

3b/ How did he go back in time?

4a/ River is half time lord, she is the child of rory and amy, amy is human, rory has to be timelord then; Are there any signs of Rory being able to read or understand Gallifreyan?

4b/ If Rory is timelord, he has to have 2 hearts. Why hasn't the doctor noticed this with his checks when he got hurt? Or as when Amy is pregnant, by using the tardis

Long post short: I overthink.

1) www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDKW8gMhAvU First Rory-Doctor encounter. Judge for yourself.

2) No Idea. I think I'll go watch some classic who to get some background on The Master and then I'll try to answer again.

3a/ You're assuming that time is a strict progression from cause to effect. Actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective point of view, it's more like a big ball full of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff.

3b/ Using a TARDIS (maybe not the Doctor's TARDIS) or a Vortex Manipulator.

4a/ No. What's more, in "a good man goes to war" Rory can't read Gallifreyan (maybe he's using a fob watch like Tennant did in "Human Nature" and forgot all his "timelord stuff".

4b/ When the Doctor hides as a human ("Human Nature", season 3 episode 8) he only has one heart.

Overthinking is not bad. I prefer people who contradict me with solid arguments than people who say "yes" or "no" to any fanmade theory.

Spoilers (for some)
Yeah, except Rory is supposedly gone, along with Amy, and now they're off with that whole "who is Clara Oswin Oswald?" Thing, which... feels a bit wrong to me after that River bit... but I digress...

Also, i'd like to point out the master having not regenerated... of course they've ****** over details like that before so...

maybe?

no he is not

the master is a well established character in the history of the show, just because you yanks are too bloody ignorant to realise it doesnt mean this show hasnt been going on longer than youve been alive

I know that the series are old (and by old I mean exactly 50 years, more than twice my age) and that I'm missing a lot of background because I haven't seen the classic series (right now I'm still at Hartnell's first episodes, I just started this week), and I know I have a lot to learn. There's no need to be so rude, man. There's a lot of people who got into Doctor Who because of the modern series.

That would mean River is the daughter of The Master and she is married to The Doctor...

But I thought the Master was dead... As in dead-dead

The last time we saw The Master, it was in the season finale with Tennant's last episode. He disappeared, however we don't truly know if he's gone for good.

I clicked the link thinking it would be some stupid theory. I don't think it's the case, but it has a VERY compelling argument.

The part about him being dead a lot is kind of a moot point unless he regenerates as himself, which, ya know, doesn't happen. The other bits are compelling though and I wonder if this will play out in any meaningful way, I doubt it though.

I prefer the idea I saw on tumblr of Clara being the Masters daughter or something, it's kinda far fetched but.. I just want the master to return in some way or form :3

A thought that crossed my mind...
If Rory is the Master, then he should be human since the Doctor hasn't noticed him. To be human, he'd need that Arch thing to change his anatomy, right?
When the Doctor did it, he had the thing on the Tardis. Where would the Master get it now?
#53 - fackyazombies (01/30/2013) [-]
Well, sure, that is possible, but if you want to put it like that, than the Master could be Amy, the master could be River song, he could be anyone. When the 9th doctor was regenerating into the 10th, he was telling rose that he could be a girl, have 2 heads or have no heads.
User avatar #20 - jellybaby (01/29/2013) [-]
Except for the fact Rory has died so many times and never regenerated.
User avatar #8 - yetaxaa (01/28/2013) [-]
That's actually an... interesting theory and pretty convincing. As others have said the thing about dying and coming to life isn't really relevant because he'd have to regenerate into someone.

Certainly refreshing after seeing all these Mrs Saxon/Donna/Amy/Clara/random woman is the Rani/Romana stories.

I don't really think so, but it would be one heck of a twist if the master regenerated at some point, became rory and used the watch to become human... That's the most plausible thing I can think of

i dont think so, didnt he become time locked when he and amy got taken by the angel? also they showed him as a child in flashbacks, i dont think time lords age at a normal rate unless theyre using those pocket watch things (drawing a blank on the name) also they showed the childhood of the master and ive never seen a time lord be a child twice. although it would be a cool twist i dont think its happening
