It's ok, there is actually a bridge inbedded into the ground, use your sonic screwdriver to extend it... I know others who watch it and it is actually a fun subject even for people who haven't watched it as long as you're making fun of the show (I love it but it's stupid, you know what I mean).

On Gallifrey, only the "time-sensitives" had orange hair. Time-sensitives were a separate species and thus, no matter how many times he regenerates, The Doctor will never be a ginger.

I know, but it's Doctor Who; do you really think something like him regenerating into a ginger when he technically wouldn't be able to would be the strangest thing to ever happen on that show?

Nope. I think The Doctor should be played by someone who is talented, but little known. Whoever plays The Doctor will always be remembered as The Doctor, so someone who is already remembered as a certain character (e.g. Rupert as Ron, Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock) shouldn't portray him.

Why does he seem to be everyone's least favorite of the most recent three? I actually think I like him the most, very closely followed by Tennant.

now that's just not true. He's not my favorite, but it's not because he's ugly (it's just that tennant is more handsome). It's not about looks, I just feel David tennant was a better actor in general. Especially with the more emotional scenes. Smith is very active and what not, but he doesn't perform the way David would. Although others might enjoy Smith's style. TO each his own.

I do agree that Tennant handled the emotional scenes better, but the episode with Van Gogh was one of the most emotional things I've ever seen. I cried serious manly tears.

that describes the entirety of the human race for the next 200 generations. we only accept a change when we are unfamiliar with the original. then that changed thing becomes our standard and for the next generation of people when that is changed we'll complain and the new people will be open to it. It's happened with books, movies, tv, freedom rights, marriage, video games, websites, celebrities, dancing, comics, cars, bicycles, shoes, clothes, people, countries, policies, time, and the universe.

Bad plots in the most recent season is killing the series, Matt is quite a decent actor but the story just ain't that great anymore.

To me, the writing has not done him any favors, and he's just so... inexpressive. Like with Eccles or Tennant, I could really feel what they were thinking and feeling, but it's like Matt Smith only has one single facial expression.

To me the inexpressiveness adds a lot of character. I mean the viewers see him as a hero. But the Daleks, Cybermen etc. see him as the destroyer of worlds. It´s just like he doesn´t care at all destroying them. I dig that.

I guess I just have the same sort of sense of humor as Smith, and so enjoy him more. Personally, I didn't like Eccleston at all. I wasn't a fan of how he acted, looked, or dressed. But, that's just my opinion, and to each his own.

*POSSIBLE SPOILERS*

I think Matt has done an excellent job as The Doctor even if there were a couple bad stories he was put into. My favorite really of the recent ones is at the end of The Rings Of Akhaten when he finally sort of breaks down and lets out all the anger and pain he's gone through in the long years he has been traveling. Sure the actor playing this role might not have mattered much but I think if you tried having Tennant pouring his soul out into just a small asteroid colony's save living then it just wouldn't have worked. Same thing in The pandorica when they're locking him inside and he's screaming out and pleading to all the people that hate him. He wanted them to believe him and I don't think Tennant, Eccleston or any from the original series could have done that role the same. He may not be my favorite doctor (Davison all the way) but don't put him down for a couple bad stories he was put in, think of him as a better Doctor because of the good stories he was in.

I agree he does have some bad writing. (Still wish he killed the parasite sun with his forbidden knowledge rather than a ******* leaf.) Though it seems he has some difficulty showing anger. (See clip) He is too serious for someone losing his composure. On the other hand he puts too much emotion. He does stressed well (See your clip) but not wrathful such as the ninth doctor did. (See reply)

Matt Smith is a wonderful Doctor. Seasons 5, and 6 were incredible, and amazingly written. He's funny, witty, and strange. He really captures the non-human aspect of being the Doctor. However. The writing for him in everything that came after season 6 sucks. The first half of season 7 is pointless. Amy, and Rory should have gone home and stayed home in The Wedding Of River Song. Then they should have made season 7 the completing of the River/Doctor story arc. I mean, they completely dropped the ******* ball with her. Just so that Amy, and Rory could have a couple more episodes, and so they could introduce Clara. Which was a horrible decision. They spent 3 seasons, and 2 Doctors building up the River Song arc, just for her to be thrown away in season 7 part 2. We didn't even get any closure with her. No conflict with her before she has to go to the library. Nothing. Just for a newby companion like Clara to have screen time. Which I'll admit is a cool character, but she was rushed way too much. A character like Clara needs an entire seasons worth of build-up, not a half of one. It made me really not like season 7 except for the finale, which was cash. (apart from the tidbits that came from the rest of the season like projection-River.)

Anyways, TL;DR. Matt Smith is great, but his writers completely **** on his story after season 6.
