Right, I hate to rain on your parade here but TIME LORDS ARE NOT A RACE!

Time Lords are merely a rank, and a very high rank, in Galifreyan society. Galifreyan is the name of the race who lived on Galifrey and Russel T. Davies simply didn't do his homework, thus creating the false stereotype that Time Lords account for all of Galifreyan society.

Time Lords are merely the elite. They are selected and biologically altered when they are deemed ready to become time lords.

Their second heart also only appears after their first regeneration.

Not saying you're wrong, but I've previously looked it up on the wikia. On the wikia it stated there was no definitive difference between Gallifreyans and Time Lords, if one at all.

Even then, it does not. The ability to traverse time and space was developed by the Galifreyans. Specifically:

1) Omega.
2) Rassilon
3) The Other

There were three of them who worked upon the project which ended up with the eventual creation of the first TARDIS.

Still, I'm glad of your content. Let's hope it gets you plenty of thumbs whilst also directing people towards my comment so they can also learn the truth of the Dr. Who universe that Russel T. Davies outwardly criticised and contradicted on several occasions because he thought he knew best.

ooh bringing up The Other in a Doctor Who discussion
don't you know how angry that can make people
cries of "THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS LOOMS!" can be heard in the distance...

good on you for doing that though

I know which lore I stick to and I'll defend the looms 'til the day I die.

Partly because it is one of the coolest ideas in the fandom, partly because it gives the Doctor one of the best origin stories of all time and partly because I personally believe that Steven Moffat considers it to be canon and that with all the subtle hints to what is going to happen in the 50th anniversary (and some of the less subtle ones) I personally believe we will be seeing something spectacular along those lines.

I'd like more info on this aswell. Concerning the rise of the Timelords, I always went with the idea stated in this post, or maybe that they created themselves in some insane paradox. Where could I find more info on the lore you adhere to?

finaly i know why they are called time lords. I though it was wierd for a race to be a timelord, ok, you travel in time but name your race after that? what were you before timetravel? Take my thumb

Thank you. Time lords are pretty much the guardians of all of time. An elite group in the Galifreyan culture who take it upon themselves to ensure the flow of time continues unsullied.

Also, if you watched yesterday's episode you may have heard the Doctor mention his granddaughter. She was the first companion to the first doctor back in the black and white era. It's just another example of why Moffat is better at writing the series than Davies is... because Moffat is actually a fan of the series and knows about the history of the show.

Well i mean the gallifreyians existed for millions of years before they became timelords. It was exposure to a time rift that changed them and made them more able to build time machines, they didnt have them from the beginning

But also what if....

Its just like religion, like there's speculation that monkeys and humans were creator and also that they evolved from eachother

what if its like that and no galifreyan actually knows their origin and go off of speculation and belief.

The story could have been screwed up along the 13.7 billion years since the beginning of time. In under 2000 years a book about an all powerful creator made of love also includes a passage approving beating people to death with rocks because they like people of the same gender, so I don't think the Timelord origin story is above being a bit incorrect.
