I may be alone in thinking this, but it feels like ever since Matt Smith took over there's been no risks anymore. During David Tennant's run, a lot of good guys died. Even moreso during Christopher Eccleston's. No one ever dies anymore, and even when they do, they find a way to bring them back so it's irrelevant. I can't really get into it anymore since I know "Oh, the Doctor will solve everything by the end."

I do like Matt Smith's Doctor, however. Don't take this the wrong way. I just don't think the show is as good.

Same here.
I've been slowly losing interested in the series because nothing really happens and the feels are broken bonds that can easily be repaired but the series says they can't.
The only reason I'm still watching is because I want to be caught up when the 13th doctor concludes the series. Oh, and the crossover between the 10th and 11th is appealing.

That will probably be a long way away since we're still on the 11th. Plus I have a feeling they will somehow BS their way out of it anyway and fix it to where he can just regenerate again somehow. Think about how many times the Master did. The master had used up all his lives when the 7th regenerated into the 8th but he just figured out a way to try to take the doctors remaining lives but got thrown into the eye of harmony then came back in the 2005 series. They'll probably have his daughter pop up one day and sacrafice her lives to give him more.

Yeah, the show cops out of it's situations way to often lately.
But maybe by the 13th, they'll have an entirely different tone to the series.
Though I'm sure they listen to the fans, so maybe the series will change by next season.

I personally hope 12 will be like, dark and grumpy. That would be interesting I think. His companion would have to be extremely pushy and almost insist he take them along and it would take him a good while to warm up to them but when he did, he would care a lot about them, being kind of like a strict dad or something. Idk, I feel like one way they could make 13 last a long time is by making him a coward, at least at first. Maybe 12 dies in a horrible and brutal way that leaves 13 shaken and under the realization that he is on his last life and if he dies this time he's done for. So for a while he's scared and tries not to get involved directly but eventually later on after he keeps getting people killed by hesitating he faces his fear and becomes more of a hero than ever before, like, he starts to get addicted to the thrill of danger that he's shyed away from and been denied for so long due to fear.

Rose Tyler.

Just saying.
She's been there since season 1. Has come back repeatedly DESPITE being 'permanently' trapped and/or lost. AND she's supposedly coming back this November for the 50th anniversary.
Matt's Doctor has lost Amy and Rory.
The show has put on a bit of a different style since he has come but every long-running show needs change. Every Doctor some how manages to bring back major companions all the time and eventually lose them. I think maybe your just getting tired of the show?

I don't think he meant the companions. He meant side characters and such. Hardly anyone dies anymore except a person here or there. Tennant would start off with a group of several people and by the end most would be dead. I see where he's coming from, Matt's doctor is good, I enjoy him, but it doesn't really feel like they are ever really in any danger anymore. It's fast paced with the doctor acting goofy and always figuring it out mostly by himself.

I actually really didn't enjoy this episode. It just felt forced and fake to me unfortunately. One big pet peeve of mine and I know it's just a show but that 19th century rocket was ridiculous, it took the best scientists years to get rockets to perform correctly and this old crazy lady with a parasite on her chest somehow designed one. And they survived the rocket blasting right by them, they would have been burned to cinders as it flew by.

Exactly! And what was the dino-lady and the other alien doing in that time period? (There's probably an explanation for that but I can't remember). Usually in these Dr. Who Scenarios, the "parasite" in this case is usually an alien from a space-faring race so it makes sense when they know how to construct a rocket, but this was a non-sentient leech. The whole episode was just too unexplained.

This episode was... conflicting. It was for me the best episode out of the five so far i had all the elements and atmosphere of DW with some more melancholic themes however he ending where Moffat ust had to shove Oswins children down the Tardis's throat by hem coincidentally finding a picture of her. I really ******* hope those brats are ripped to pieces by the Cybermen.

**** I agree why would a time traveler sit there and pose for pictures like that. Absolutely ridiculous. And the kids thing was SO forced, the Tardis is no place for children, the Dr. can barely keep his companion alive, in fact, he often can't.

Agreed. In this season especially, I'm noticing that they try to cram too much into the episodes and end up rushing it. Like in the last one, was it ever explained what exactly the "big friendly button" actually did? Or why exactly they weren't supposed to touch each other to interrupt the time stream?
Or, for that matter, how that parasite thing managed to survive millions of years?

Not sure about the first and last one but the not touching each other was simple. The them from the future that perished in the rays of the eye of harmony was stuck together, it wasn't that them touching caused that, the eye of harmony's rays roasted them and they just happened to be touching when it did. So what the doctor wanted to do was keep them apart, if they never get stuck together, they would have changed time, sure one of them might get roasted, hell they might all still get roasted. But in a desperate situation the doctor was grasping at straws, trying to change anything he possibly could to make sure they wouldn't end up with the same future.

All the episodes should be an hour long. Don't know why Doctor Who haven't done this yet. They get you into the story then rush the ending so much, very annoying.
