The doctors age is completly inconsistant. we know he was at the very least 200 years old as one, as four he said he was 750, seven said he was 975, so there is no way that ten was 907. what i think confused people is when nine said that he had "900 years of phone box travel" but this dosn't mean he is 900 years old, he was 200 when he first stole the TARDIS and it wasnt technically a police box then. eight also spent about 600 years on a planet caled orbis (although this wasnt televised) and eleven spent about 200 years travling on his own. so overal i would estimate the doctors minimum age as 1900 at the very least.

I think that there's a mild joke that since the Doctor has been moving through excessively non-linear time streams, he doesn't even know his own true age, and just kinda estimates.

True. Timelords are hinted to have problems remembering all their lives. On Gallifrey they have the APC net, which stores their knowledge and experience at the moment of death and uses it to predict the future. So each time they regenerate, no matter where or when, their minds are saved and updated in the APC net. Though they can not regenerate back from it, they can access the knowledge through some crown or something. The doctor actually linked with it in his 5th incarnation, I think.

That's usually the problem when you have one character lasting so long. Different writers begin to contradict themselves. Like how during the 4th Doctors run, it was said that he has his first life (1st Doctor) and then 12 regenerations. I'm pretty sure in an episode of Torchwood, 11th said he can regenerate as many times as he wanted. Also, 8th said he was half human, on his mothers side

there is indeeds a fuckton of continuety errors, most people just try to forget that movie eight was in, although he was a brilliant doctor for the short run he had that was a truly terrible film and most writers and fans just ignore the 'revelation' that he is half human. Im not sure about the regeneration limit, but its an importnant issue, because when you take into account john hurts doctor being introduced and the time ten regenerated but didn't change in journeys end, eleven should be the doctors last body. so they need to come up with an explanation soon

I think the unlimited generations was intended to be a joke, but you are right about how if it was going by the 13 lives, then Matt Smith would be the last Doctor. Who knows

matt smith should be the last doctor, this is reinforced by the fact that clara went through the doctors time line from the last point in his history (his death) and with the exception of john hurt only saw eleven faces. and his tomb on trenzalore is refered to as "the fall of the eleventh".
however the doctor and clara are still in his time stream, so maybe something they do there will change his fate
One idea i have of how the regeneration limit could be bypassed is that when rassilon invented time travel and turned the gallifreyans into time lords it was him who put the limit on regenerations so they wouldnt become too powerfull (this was before he became the dick we saw in the end of time) but at the end of the time war he didn't just die, he was removed from time completly, so maybe with on rassilon, theres no limit...

plus, the Master has come back from the end of his regeneration cycle like 10 times, so who knows what they will do
