People you need to calm your shit
Really, I don't watch doctor who but I know damn well there are worst fandoms so you guys can calm down a bit and realize that at least they aren't so bad
I mean at least stuff like their age level is right, I never hear anyone saying that you're too old for Doctor Who, oh and they actually have some of the most tame cosplay
What I'm trying is at least they're not bronies and aren't dressing up as animals from a children's show that was created for 12 year old girls
Really why must you people flip shit whenever there is a post that involves a semi popular fandom?

Me and my parents have watched it for years, and so has pretty-much everyone else in Britain
Then Americans caught wind of it and created this stupid fucking fandom, it almost makes me dislike the show

so, as long as their not the most annoying they can't be criticized for being annoying?

I've never met more than two "bronys" irl and they didn't bring it up once. I've met much more Dr. Who fans, and most aren't bad, but some are quite annoying about it.

They're not criticizing dr who, they're criticizing the annoying people

Doctor Who is, like MLP, a kids show.

Till you watch "Blink" after sunset.

The fact that it can be scary (which, it hasn't been for about 20 years, Blink was suspenseful, not scary) does not take away from the fact that it is for kids. It is one of the most popular things to market to kids in fact, kids love to be scared.

Justified, because in 1969, DW was marketed toward a younger audience to teach them about history. It was set in times that the target demographic would know about 'cause they read about these times.

See, I would argue that when DW entered the 70's it stopped being educational. The first Doctor visited a lot of historical periods and such. And the second also did, but to a very small extent. But in 1969 he regenerated again, and I think the whole educational think fell of the You need to login to view this link fact, I don't think Pertwee visited any historical perioded during his travelling seasons. And then they completely grounded him and he didn't even visit other planets for a long time.

Doesn't really sound like it to me
Considering that they kill off multiple characters, have an actual plot and have relationships actively develop I can't say it's a kids show
Unlike MLP which is a cut and dry kids show

Yeah, well, in America kids' shows are very tame. And American nerds that love the show feel ashamed of the fact that it is.
But Doctor Who has always been a family friendly kids show. That's why Tom Baker decided to stop smoking once he got the role, and why he, Pertwee and Davison all fought against including darker plot points in their stories. It is a kids show and has always been. Everyone in Britain knows that, but for some reason Americans like to think it's supposed to be aimed at mature audiences.

I agree with what your saying, but i still personally enjoy watching the show.

Oh, I don't say you shouldn't like it. I absolutely love it and have been watching it since I was four. But it isn't made for us, it's made for the children. We love it 'cause it's good, but that doesn't make it an adult show. I'm 23 and I watch a kid's show, because it's awesome, there's no need to validate it with it "being for mature audiences".

Still doesn't deserve the hate it's getting in these comments just because a few fans decided to make a joke

Annoying people are annoying. It doesn't matter if they're annoying for arbitrary, age appropriate reasons. And for people like me, who have dedicated hundreds of hours to Doctor Who over the course of 19 years, people who don't care for it, and people who have the restraint not to go back to a thing they like in a circle jerk mental motion, trying to bring it into everything is stupid.
