In all fairness Fox cancelled Firefly, and not even America likes Fox.

DR.Who is taken way too seriously, a person can't have an opinion negative towards this show otherwise they are beat up by a bunch of fanboys.

What the **** did you just ******* say about me, you little ape? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in The Academy of Cheesemaking, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on The Daleks, and I have over 30 confirmed companions. I am trained in time navigation and I’m the most important man in all of creation. You are nothing to me but just another ungrateful human. I will wipe you the **** out with precision the likes of which has never been seen since the Last Great Time War, mark my ******* words. You think you can get away with saying that **** to me over a psychic link? Think again, ******. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across time and space and your IP is being traced by K-9 so you better prepare for The Oncoming Storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re ******* dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime (literally), and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my sonic screwdriver. Not only am I extensively trained in handing out jelly babies, but I have access to the entire arsenal of Torchwood and I will use it to its full extent to prevent your miserable ass from ever being born, you little ****. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” genocide was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your ******* tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will **** artron energy all over you and you will drown in it. You’re ******* dead, kiddo.

Definitely start with the 9th doctor in 2005. It's easy to start at, and it can all be found on-demand.

Start with the 9th doctor. The recent reboot started in 2005 with Christopher Eccleston. If you look for "Doctor Who season 1," that's what you'll find. The series progresses somewhat logically from there.

I agree. Start with the 9th Doctor. If you wish to go back and watch the Original series, then go for it. I like Tom Baker myself, along with David. The Original series is good, but if you don't want to sit through 50 years of Doctor Who, the 9th Doctor is a great place to start.

In those days, shows were recorded on a big bulky tapes (way bigger than vhs tapes) that took a lot of room to store. They, sometime, just didn't have the room to keep them so they would destroy or reuse them. The same thing almost happened with The Monty Python's Flying Circus.

Before you say stupid things, check your facts. Old who has missing episodes in the serials of the first few doctors. some of the later episodes are in black and white because the BBC threw the colour copies out, but fortunatly an australian television channel kept black and white copies. (australia aired black and white who at the time) but some episodes are lost forever...

I guess it depends on what you consider a fanboy. I started watching in an odd place (Ten and Martha,) but after I got acclimated and decided I was in for the long haul, I went back and watched from Eccelston on. Somewhere in the middle of the new series I noticed that some of the old serials had shown up on Netflix, and with one Pyramids of Mars viewing I fell in love with the Fourth Doctor. Since then I've watched at least two serials from each classic Doctor, although I still can't quite stomach the first, but I appreciate the fact that without Hartnell the series would not exist. I own a fair bit of merch and am going about collecting all of the novelizations, but I do not consider myself a 'Whovian,' but my slight obsession may tip the scales in favor of fanboyism?

Unless you're just upset at the tiny dig at British folks. If that's the case, disregard and carry on.
