When I was 13, I was playing basketball in the park right across my dad's house over the 7th grade summer. I was playing alone because I didn't know many people in the area, for I did not go to school there nor did I live in any sort of neighborhood. When I was playing, I saw a group of 10+ people, around my age, playing baseball in the field not 20 yards away. A girl stepped up to the plate and swung, with her left hand. I watched because I thought it was going to be an amazing hit, but instead it came right at me and hit me so hard it broke my nose and gave me bruises up one side of my face. My dad was always at work usually, and since my phone broke a week before I had no ways of contacting him, so the girl's mother had to be called and a total stranger took me to the hospital. They paid for all expenses and then asked my name. I discovered that the girl who hit me's name was Destinie. Immediately took a liking to the girl, and soon after started dating her. After about 2 weeks of dating, she introduced me to her friends, whom most of I did not meet. It turned out she was part of the, very large, popular clique. She introduced to me exactly 126 friends. I immediately hit it off with the vast majority of them. For once in my life, I was part of the popular clique, instead of some loner with 5 or 6 friends. I hung out with them nearly everyday, and my father knew nothing about it, because he wasn't home during the day. None of my family knew that I was even dating. They just thought I sat home and watched TV and chatted with friends and played basketball. I dated Destinie for nearly 3 years. It was possibly the happiest time of my life. I enjoyed every moment of it. We never fought or came to any crossroads. We did everything and anything. We smoked weed, we had sex and all of that. I didn't think anything could get better than that. Then, one day, we went to her/my friend's house, like we usually do. We went swimming in their pool, for neither of us had a pool in our backyards. We spent hours swimming. Then it turned 6 o' clock on the dot. My father would be home within 30 minutes, so I had to head home, so did she. I insisted on walking her home, but she declined and told me that I should hurry home. I kept insisting but she kept denying. Disappointed, I walked home. 10 minutes from home, I heard a loud crash coming from the direction I came. Thinking crashes were normal, I shrugged it off.
It turned out Destinie had been hit by that car in the crash.
